Visited friends who were camping here. Beautiful camp sites. Visiting from Houston, Texas.
Been coming here for years. Very well-kept and spaced campsites. Bathrooms are holding up well, and the shower facilities are spacious. Programming in the summer, including a fantastic raptor program. Nice laundry facilities, too, though we've not needed them, being close to home. Just the tiniest bit of road noise in the distance, from Peak-to-Peak highway and some flyover noise from the Denver airport once they start taking off after 6am. But nice high forest environment and a ton of walking/hiking opportunities without having to start your car.
Lovely campground in the mountains not far from Denver. Lots of hiking options and great views from panorama point. No cell coverage at all for Verizon. 5 loops for campers with electric and a lot of tent camping sites. Reservations are required in advance
Camped Fri thru Sun nights July 4th weekend. It was a great campground. One caution...pick your time of year wisely. Pine pollen was so thick it looked like yellow clouds. The reason for only 4 stars is the design of the fire pit and fire pit surround and the raised area around the fire pit. Pit did not offer much depth and no adjustment for height of grate above fire. Raised fire pit surround made it very difficult to sit around the campfire.
NO RV’s AND TRAILERS ALLOWED ON MOUNTAIN BASE ROAD. Keep going straight on 46 West, turn right on highway 119, and turn right on Gap Road to get to Reverends Ridge Campground. And when you leave.... TURN RIGHT on Gap Road to get out. That left turn out of the gate, is the same road that RVs and Trailers aren’t allowed on.
