We stayed two nights in January 2025 doing the Campervan thing. This place was a little slice of nearly perfect in the middle of the city. It is NOT in the downtown area, but close enough to get around by bus or bicycle (I think there is something there or nearby, but I did not use it or explore it). No rooms. What this was is an icy parking lot with power hookups for the campervans. In winter there were no tent spaces. They use electronic locks with 4 digit codes to access very spacious and very clean bathrooms, showers, kitchen, and lounge areas. Everything was well stocked and very clean. Buildings were warm. Of note to tourist...there is a shelf in the kitchen for supplies. Leave items you don't need here and pick up some you may need. We found both unopened and unused items as well as many partially used items like a Bag of coffee and gas canisters. Check it out. This was the first overnight of our ten day trip to Iceland and it set the bar for us as to what to expect. The price for the night was reasonable and I felt very fair for the accommodation. Would recommend.

Came as a solo traveler, and this is my first time camping in Iceland and I must say that this was a very conveniently located campsite, with many facilities that were clean. Plenty of room for campers, and most importantly I felt safe. The check-in process was easy and effortless. Would recommend.

We spent one night on march 2025. Showers, wc and kitchen area work with a code, neverthess homeless people go inside. It’s around 50 minutes walk from the city centre. Facilites are clean and the camping is quite.

Perfect campsite if you’re looking for something close to the city and with good facilities. The inside cooking/dining area was super helpful (we camped in winter) and the hostel was nearby if you wanted to grab a beer or hot drink. The showers and toilets are heated and clean, and there was plenty of space.

Nice campground in the city! Check in was easy with a QR code and it gives you an access code to the gates and facilities. The location is convenient and there were two camping areas to pick from. We picked the grassy area as we did not need electricity. The electricity area was more of a parking lot. The facilities were okay, but not the cleanest the we encountered. There were plenty of bathrooms, showers, and areas to do dishes so that is a huge benefit! We never had to wait to use any of the facilities or showers. Plenty of hot water too!
