Reynolds creek #150 #lempirahiker this trail is located in sierra ancha wilderness if u have alltrails app the directions would take u to a "fr 410" campsite there is actually NO access to the trail head from there in Car! U can access it if u have an ATV or u can hike/walk from there but it would add an extra 8 miles to your hike (4 up and 4 down ) so instead keep going down 288 hwy for about 1.5 miles and you will see the 410 sign take that all the way to the end (about 4 miles ) you would then see the sign for trail #150... Now let me tell you we end up doing almost 14 miles all together because we started about 4 miles from the actual trail head we end up doing a loop using center mtn #142 trail and another trail from top of mountain there was a lot of snow on part of trail so we didn't want to go back the same way though without the snow it would have been super easy because is all down hill from there...the trail is relatively clean considering its lightly trafficked ...it is mostly up hill you would definitely feel the burn lol but it's worth it ! Very nice views lots of water flowing in the creek lots of wild life! Don't forget is bear country (we saw bear paw prints in the snow that was a little scary ) The trail is about 60% shaded which is always nice still gets hot I drank all of my water bring purifying tablets or water filter just in case.we didn't see anyone on the trail all day though when we got to the campsite there were several people camping I talked to a group of girl apparently they were part of a youth group from church/school they were camping over the weekend let me tell you when we came back from our hike around 5pm everyone was gone they left so much trash behind it was unreal!!! I couldn't believe it "pack it in , Pack it out"!!! Ridiculous anyway the place is amazing for camping ,hiking walks even the drive there is awesome can't get enough of this area
Such a beautiful spot. We canp up at the top, 4 miles off the 288. Long rough road but super peaceful. Spectacular views, especially during monsoon season. Watching the storms off to the east and all the lightning. Theres a long hiking trail that takes you to the top of an adjacent peak. About 20° to 25° cooler than the valley.
Super fun place to camp. Set back off the main road. Can have a really large group or a smaller group either way beautiful place to stay and camp. Some of the amenities are aging and need some repairs and attention other wise love this place.
Perfect private camp ground. You need to reserve it through recreation dot gov only down side is the prices tripled. Vault toilet and big open spaces for 100+ people or just your little family.
Hiked a few miles if Hell's Hole Trail. Stunning hike, with an idyllic picnic spot at the river. Quite a climb out, though!
