I gave it a full five stars even though the beach is weedy, because they also have a pool. I camp "no service" sites, and I love the selection and variety of sites. Great private sites and also open sites for more social gatherings. The park is well run and the staff are always friendly. It is close enough to Kingston that I have gone to work from there, and yet the views and extensive property feel so far from town. Note: Sometimes, at night, when all is silent, the traffic on the 401 or trains can be heard in the distance. Neither bothered me.
Visited in august 2024 and was very impressed with this campground. It is a large and well maintained area. The staff was friendly to me even though i arrived near the office closing time. I really enjoyed the duck pond and all the waterfowl that roams the park freely and found the whole atmosphere to be quiet and family friendly as i rode my bicycle around to explore the entire campground. I will return next time i pass through kingston and hopefully have a longer stay.✌️❤️🚵♀️
As we travel, we value reviews. They tend to give us a more accurate perspective of where we’d like to stay on the road. We’d strongly encourage you to pass on Roseau Acres. Staff at checkin was not interested in being friendly, welcoming, or giving the lay of the land as we entered. For example, it would have been very helpful to know the pool hours prior to setup as we then missed it closing. Then, the campground itself is far from clean or updated. The birds on the property leave their remnants everywhere, which gets tracked into the bathroom and pool area. The bathrooms are not clean or taken care of. Maintenance is lacking overall. Sites borders are tight and not well defined. No real fire pits, just established fires on the ground. Finally, there is a key fob deposit which you pay via your CC on checkin. When you get the deposit back on checkout, you get a five dollar Canadian bill in return. While this is a little thing, it’s just a small annoyance to not have it refunded to the original form of payment. Again, overall we would not recommend this property and encourage you to keep moving down the road.
Campground is amazing! Great pool and activities offered. We visited family staying there and were told we had to walk. There were plenty of open spots for us to park where our family was staying too. It was a 15 minute walk to our family’s site! We paid for 2 days and when we visited the 2nd day and parked and grabbed our supplies and prepared for the hike the people inside the office got over the loudspeaker outside and yelled at us to come inside and pay. I yelled right back letting them know we did already. The birds roaming around the central part of the campground were really cool.
Favorite place! Friendly family run campground with walking trails, playground, beach, and Duck pond. A great escape from the city.
