We camped in our RV. The majority of the sites are super tight with the neighbors pooper hose right out your front door. Thankful for full hookups. The river is beautiful. There is no internet and very little cell service. We were there during their Halloween festivities, and the staff did a great job with that for the kids! The kids had a blast.
River Falls at the Gorge was disappointing. The campground smelled like burnt rubber, and the campsites were crammed so close together that we felt on top of our neighbors. The view of the river was completely blocked by giant RVs, and instead of enjoying nature, we heard kids screaming, killing minnows, and people blasting football on their TVs, drowning out the sound of the river. Not the peaceful retreat we were hoping for. We won’t be returning. EDIT to respond to owner’s comment: We WERE on the riverfront sites and a massive RV pulled up beside us, blocking the view of the river to the left. Very rude to call me a liar in my review as we paid a gross rate to stay here. Also, both kids and adults were running behind our site (on the river wall) thus invading our privacy all throughout our stay. There were no other available sites at the time of our visit, so no you could not have moved us. This place was grossly overcrowded, on top of each other, loud and smelt like burnt rubber as mentioned above. For the $70-90 a night, this place is absolutely not worth it.
Things we liked: the river, playgrounds, halloween decor and fun halloween activities, trash pick up, and online reservations. The staff was pleasant. There was free water in the camp office. Did not like the insanely cramped campsites. We stayed in A44 and essentially had no camp side space. There was about 2 feet from our camper to our neighbors sewer connection. Our picnic table was underneath the neighbors slide out. We have never seen a campsite that was so strangely laid out. We had plenty of space on the front and back. Cell service and LTE was not great. Near the "A" campsites is an overhead highway bridge with lots of noise . A golf cart and/or a tow vehicle would be recommended because the campground is very spread out with very steep hills to climb. Edited to add: the clubhouse, office, and pool are at the top of a hill.
We enjoyed the view of the river, that was the best part. We had to use our hotspot for WiFi which was inconvenient and the cell service was spotty. The bathhouse was rustic but sufficient. The worst thing was the sour smell wafting down I think from the dumpster area. I’m glad we didn’t have any neighbors close by or we would’ve felt very cramped. We won’t be coming back.
we went there to camp and it was great, most of the sites are right on the water. There's great tubing you can get out and get in easily but the steps do need to be replaced. The sites are a little close to one another but the river makes up for it, was a really great place to stay. The pool was not so great. Didn't look like they cleaned it enough but the river more than made up for it. Bathrooms where clean and there is plenty of places to just sit and enjoy the river.
