River Forest Park Campground

I had to leave 6 days into a month lease due to my grandmother having a heart attack and the guy said no refunds but he was going to try to make an exception which I greatly appreciate but the guy has said multiple times he would get back with me and now ignores me I at least want my deposit back I just think it’s rough to spend $1300 for a month that I only got to use 6 days for if I could have at least gotten 2 weeks back I would have been more than happy but instead I got nothing back. Don’t stay here unless you know 100% your going to stay the whole time.

We have been camping seasonally here for 3 years now. From day one, the new owners have been the most welcoming and accommodating people we have ever meet. They have really worked hard to clean up and modernize the park. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this is the place to check out. It's like being on vacation all summer! Thank you for everything you do and keep up the great work.

We love it here! The grounds are clean, huge clean pool and a new playground that my kids love. Very spacious sites. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Looking for a seasonal here.

New owners have done step by step improvements to this beautiful campground. We fell back into camping mode while the owners (plus their contacts), did so much for us seniors, last year, through a very wet year. They went above and beyond to help us settle in, when the camper dealer, let us down. This season we are looking forward to the new 50 amp service, a recon-figuring of neighbor sites and the confidence we made the right choice returning!

Our first time here! After hearing all the negative comments we wondered what we had gotten into. Those with negative facility comments need to go back and check out again. I’ve seen old pictures before upgrades and am quite impressed the improvements they’ve done to clean this place up and make it a family friendly Camping experience. Unfortunately we were not able to spend a weekend to get the full experience but will try again in the future. While we were away visiting friends an awful wind picked up and was blowing our awning around. The owner went the extra step of trying to contact us to let us know although he couldn’t make contact with us. They even tried opening our camper door to secure our awning but we had it locked. A little extra effort like this goes a long way. As for charging visitors a fee, my understanding is it’s more of a mandate than just one campground. Bottom line, new owners trying to right a sinking ship…give them some time…it looks to me like they’re constantly working on upgrades. While we were there this week he was having new gravel delivered and spread in the camp roads. Thank you!
