There’s not a lot to this park— an indoor bathroom and a rocky beach. The kids had a blast throwing rocks and sticks into the river and running around. The water speed may vary over the year. In June, part of the river at this park is pretty calm, but it speeds up a lot on the other end of the park. I would recommend visiting in the morning to avoid facing the sun (which is what happens in the afternoon). We will be returning.
The park is a reminder of what happened, but it was a beautiful Monday morning. The sun was shining, and the skies were blue. We took a group of hikers up to the park and walked around it was wonderful.
Great park near the river with a ton of easy trails for walking. Yurt village was nice to stay at. Campsites seems a bit close together. Day use areas were being used for a wedding reception and what appeared to be a baby shower. Deer are everywhere here!
Excellent place to get out in the water and splash around. Out there today some kids were trying to tube down the river and it wasnt really deep enough. Took our dog and it was the perfect height for his short (corgi plus a few inches height) butt to run around without swimming in most places.
My wife and I visited Dec 28, 2020 arriving just before noon. It was still quite cool, 34 degrees according to my car's outside temperature gauge. We had a nice walk along the river and through the meadow. We were very fortunate to come across a sample of hair ice We found it very interesting when we read about it on Google.
