Sharing a treasured secret: this place is a hidden gem. Liz and John (proprietors) and their staff, Michael (chef) and Toni have created a remarkable oasis. The grounds are beautiful with lush gardens and multiple outdoor areas to relax. The lodge itself is meticulously maintained. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfy. The food was outstanding. Only a few minutes from some of the best fishing in the west and a tremendous value compared to some other local options. Can't wait to get back. Thank you!
River Retreat Lodge was wonderful. Our daughter got married up the road at Big Elk Campground and we wanted to be both close and comfortable. The Owners were endlessly helpful with all of our questions - and we had lots! The chef and food was gourmet and delicious. We'd recommend River Retreat to anyone. Immaculately clean. Super friendly. Convenient to all of Swan Valley and Palisades area. beautiful country!!!
Great atmosphere, excellent staff and extremely helpful owners. We stayed here for 7 nights- perfect place to get a great night sleep, delicious breakfasts and dinners. Each day we packed adventure in from the surrounding areas with places like Snake River, Yellowstone and Jackson. Fishing. Scenery. Wildlife. Water. Perfection!
The lodge was a fantastic home base for daily fishing and local day trips. My suite was very comfortable and morning breakfasts were great! Liz and John were very accommodating, I hope to stay at the River Retreat Lodge again next year.
Our stay at River Retreat Lodge was awesome! We required a last minute change of accommodations and Liz was more than happy to help us. The entire facility is very well maintained, and the rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Located in a very quiet, serene area, it was the perfect place to relax after a day of outside activities. The breakfasts were amazing! If visiting, request the strawberry muffins - they were delicious. And Liz even gave us two for the road the morning we checked out. We highly recommend the River Retreat Lodge. John and Sue Ayres
