We stayed at Riverbend for the month of September, great time. Our site was very quiet and backed onto the Sheep River. We were able to join in on 2 camp parties with music and dancing. All the regulars were very welcoming. Highly recommend stopping in here for any length of time.
Just returned from a splendid camping trip at Riverbend. Very clean facility, showers are hot and only $1/5 mins. Trails are nicely groomed, sheep river is right there to wade and tube run, swimming in the pond was great and all the activities available to do with the kids at decent prices too. Our last night saw a horrific storm, but we were sheltered enough at our tent site, everything stayed intact. Staff is friendly and helpful and the area is quite quiet. No complaints, we will be back.
This campground is big and mostly seasonal sites. It looks like a graveyard for dead RV’s. They have no standards at all for up keep of the sites. It’s almost all dirt and with dogs, I was grateful it wasn’t raining. It did have city water. We had a choice to get full hookup with sewer or just water and electric. We chose W/E as they have a dump station. When we went to the dump station, there was a sign to check with the office. So I called them and they said there was a $5 charge to dump! Well they never disclosed that when we checked in or we would have chosen a full hookup site. We disputed it and they waived the charge. If you’re going to charge to dump, they need to let you know up front. My husband thought I was being generous giving them 2 stars.
Very nice campground. Quiet, very clean, kid friendly. Lots of maintenance staff around taking care of the place every day. Seems to be mostly seasonal residents there but there is still short term camping available. Good size sites. Clean bathrooms. Plenty to do. Friendly staff in the office. More room and privacy than many private campgrounds. But you’re still close to your neighbours. Overall one of our best camping experiences to date.
We loved our stay at Riverbend! We were lucky to get the tent site on the water. Our kids loved the playgrounds, trails and public use beach area. The bathrooms/showers were very well kept and firewood was well priced. We loved that it was away from the hustle and bustle of Calgary but close enough to do day trips with the kids.
