Environment: Riverbend Campground is described by visitors as a "pretty little campground" and a "hidden GEM," known for its quiet and tranquil atmosphere. Despite its proximity to a train track, guests have noted that the occasional passing train is more of a "soothing sound" without any whistles, adding to the peaceful ambiance. The campground is surrounded by beautiful trees and plants, and the nearby Nisqually River enhances the natural beauty. Wildlife such as birds and wild rabbits are frequently spotted, contributing to the serene setting. The campground is well-kept and clean, ensuring a pleasant stay.
Services: While the location is fairly remote and Wi-Fi can be unreliable in certain areas, Riverbend Campground offers essential amenities for a comfortable stay. Public restrooms are available, and coin-operated showers are provided (approximately $5.00 for a 20-minute shower with a start/stop button). For pet owners, there is a small dog park on the property. The campground accommodates various types of camping, including RV/trailer sites and tent sites. It's worth noting that the location also includes a mobile home park with permanent residents.
Features: A significant highlight of Riverbend Campground is the complimentary fishing passes offered with your stay (up to two people). Guests must possess a valid Washington State fishing license to take advantage of this perk. The Nisqually River is clear, but caution is advised as the current can be strong, and swimming is at your own risk. The campground is family-friendly, with children present, but strict rules are in place to ensure quiet hours are observed (typically after 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM), with potential eviction without refund for excessive noise. While there are limitations on the number of vehicles allowed per site, most visitors, especially those RV'ing, have not encountered any issues. The campground's rules are described as strict but fair, and the prices are considered reasonable given the current economic climate.

This is a pretty little campground! We found it to be quiet even though there is a train track nearby. No whistles, just the soothing sound of a train rustling by every now and then. Otherwise, birds chirping is all you here. We will definitely return.
Upon arriving to check in the lady at the front desk was nice, but direct. I would describe this place as a hidden GEM! Peaceful and quiet. Located near Old Pacific Hwy SE and Nisqually River. This location is fairly remote and the Wi-Fi can be a bit unreliable in certain areas, but other than that there are so many beautiful trees, plants, and a river (Nisqually River) nearby. There were a lot of birds and wild rabbits. The campground is clean and well-kept. There is a small dog park on the property. There are public restrooms and coin operated showers (i.e., 20 minutes shower can cost you around $5.00). There is a start stop button for the shower. Pros: They offer fishing passes with your stay at no additional cost for up to two (2) people. You must hold a fishing license valid for the state of Washington. It is a lovely river that is clear, but the current can be strong so swimming is AT YOUR OWN RISK! There are signs posted all around that warn they aren't responsible for you if you decide to swim in the river. Cons: There are limitations to how many vehicles you can have, but we didn't have any issue with that as we were RV'ing and didn't really have many other vehicles with us. They are reasonable though. With the cost of everything going up I would say that their prices are fair. This location is a combination of things from what I saw because it not only has RV/trailer/tent sites, but is also a mobile home park (i.e., there are actual residents that live there). The rules are strict, but I consider them fair. There are children and it is family friendly, but loud noise after a certain hour is not permitted and you can be kicked out without a refund. All they ask for is that you be mindful late at night (i.e., 09:00 PM or 10:00 PM). We didn't encounter any issues with our stay and really enjoyed our time spent there. I would definitely return here to camp and fish in the future.
The website's description is inaccurate. We advise against booking based on online information. Our experience with Fox Site was disappointing, as the management refused to honor the advertised additional car fee. Furthermore, the washroom and honey bucket facilities were unsanitary over the weekend due to lack of service. Warm showers were also unavailable. Considering the $400 three-night rate, we expected significantly better service.
Only go here if you can get a river front campsite. For context, we tent camped and were next to some literal crack heads. They were up all night getting in and out of their car. Let their dog run loose into our camp so they were constantly in our space. Smoking something in their tent that obviously they couldn’t smoke in public and the worst of it all while we were eating breakfast they decided to go have loud sex in their tent 20ft away from our kids eating breakfast and got hostile when we told them there were kids around. All this to say the park did NOTHING. I called and spoke to their after hours personnel who said they would take care of it. I got no call, no reimbursement, no one reached out to even see if we could move spots. Pretty disappointed for the lack of action from management and security of the place. Oh and I’m sure you can tell but they never answer the phone number listed online
For a tent camping site, it was VERY spendy. Trains run close by right up until about 3 am. There was a young girl in the office who was incredibly rude ( it seemed as though we had interrupted her texting time or something) The showers (ablution block and facilities) were quite far away from the tent camping section, and very poorly marked. In fact, we only stayed the one night, despite having booked for two nights. Overall, not worth the effort!
