Interesting space. Chronic sound of traffic all night when you camp. Lacks wildlife. My suburban townhome home is quieter and has more animals than this campsite. I love all the native flowers and plants and how the place is in the process of healing and renewal. I wouldn't expect many animals to return beside mosquitos and bats due to the noise pollution, though. Nice facility for horse camping. Many walking trails to explore. I'd recommend it most for a daytrip or horse camping.
I love hiking here. It's a bummer they haven't opened up the gate yet this year. Especially after they spent the money to put in extra parking last year. It's not safe having to park out by the side of the busy road.
Been horse camping here for nearly 20yrs...such a lovely peaceful place with great trails and even has a barn for the horses❤🐴
I like this area for hiking. I get lost at the end every time though so give yourself plenary if daylight. I didn’t the last time and it was awful.
Some of the beautiful native prairies you'll see anywhere in the state. Kudos to Three Rivers!
