Riverdale Farm Campsite

Spent one night here while in the area. The campground was located near a town with grocery stores, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. The road to the campground is winding and narrow. Once at the campground there is a motion sensor gate (you are given a key card upon check-in). The area was open with a playground, tennis and basketball courts and a small lake. The attendant at check-in was very friendly and helpful. (She even gave us a great recommendation for dinner!) The site that we were given was difficult to get into due to another camper's vehicle. I called the office and easily changed to another site. The site we stayed in backed up to the stream with a small dock and steps down to the water. The campground was clean and quiet. On a side note, the laundry was the least expensive we found in the New England area. We were very pleased with the campground and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Was here just a single night, but everything was great. The campground was clean and quiet. The other people were all very nice. We arrived after the store closed and so had no firewood. Other campers were happy to share. Showers were clean and hot. I didn't interact too much with staff other than booking but they were very nice and accommodating.

We've been to so many campgrounds over the years, and it's been a mixed bag. Everyone we encountered here from the first phone call reservation to our departure was above and beyond nice to us! Shout out to the Riverdale team! The campground was easy to find and was not crowded. Our site was easy to park in which we really appreciated because we have a 36' trailer. We usually run into campground rules, fellow campers, or personnel that spoil our experience but not here! It is along a stream, and there is a nice sized swimming pond with a sandy beach. The hookup we had was electric and only grey water, which was unusual for us but not a problem bc they have honey bucket service and a dump station. The only issue we had was that the road lighting was very bright, so it detracted from our fire pit enjoyment. Next time, we will choose a site farther from the bright campground road lights. There is a nice town, shops, restaurants, and state park, only a short drive away. Great campground experience!!

We love this place! The campground itself is nothing to write home about. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but the sites right on the pond are great. My daughter can swim all day long and we don't need to leave our site. It's super convenient if you have little kiddos. The pond is clean and very warm. The pond sites only have grey water sewer so you do need to dump. Conveniently located and very affordable.

Spent a Couple Weeks here in April of 2023, it was great. We had family to help out in the Branford Area, Both of us are from Clinton but haven't lived here since 87 & 88, we have lived in Florida for the last 36 yrs. Always enjoy a return to New England. Also grew up camping here and fishing the river as a child, so this place holds alotta memories as well.
