Great campground. Stayed on site 30 next to the river and that makes a difference with the noise from the road. Place was clean and bathrooms too. Had great experience and not our first stay there. Some sites are hard to get to the water from especially on the east loop. Overall a great campground. Recommended.

Had a nice stay here. Getting to the river is tough on the east loop. Host was friendly and available. The vault toilets were pretty clean for vault toilets. They are very dark inside even during the day. Fire rings were in great shape, sites were clean. The site we stayed in had many tripping hazards like tree roots, rocks, and stumps(bring a head lamp). The water spigots were clean and the water was very fresh and cold. Waste water and periodic dumpsters. Like other reviews, there is the noise from the highway. We didn't think it was too bad and could hear the river over it most of the time. We will definitely return and try for a different site.

This is a decent campground right off the highway. You will incur noise from the cars on the highway, even on the sites closer to the river. There are some sweet sites to the right as you enter the CG with nice river access. The sites to the left offer little access due to the high embankment on the river. We stayed at site 15 and climbed down to the river. The sites are nice, you might be able to see your neighbors on some, others are secluded. If you have a big RV this might not be the place for you. There are a couple sites that might accommodate 18+ feet but it will be tough. This CG is very clean. The 3 pit toilets are kept very clean, at least while we were there. We gave this CG 4 stars because of Tom the campground host. This guy works hard, is super cool and very friendly. We got there around 12 on a Friday and Tom really squared us away, showed us the open sites and was very pleasant. Its a good place to crash for the night in between Central Oregon and the Valley or Coast. There are 37 sites here and you can reserve them on recreation.gov.

Things I loved: 1.Tom (?) Or John(?) The camp host. He was extremely helpful and very welcoming of our hippy band of rogues from PDX. 2. That it's a small campground with a lot of trees and river. 3. CLEAN VAULT TOILETS. (not kidding. Clean. No flies. And didn't stink) 4. The new fire rings are superb and the grates move. 5. That most of the campsites have a reasonable amount of privacy. Especially in the 30's. 6. Limited but workable river acess. 7. There wasn't 855 unruly, unsupervised kids running around. We also didn't have to deal with people setting up camp at midnight. 8. Most of the campsites are a pretty good size, Although ours (31) was smaller, but had plenty of privacy. **Be aware that river access is limited in this camp. At one end there is a fence because there's no safe way to get to it** Things that weren't my favourite: 1. It's yards from the highway State 22. If you have a campsite on the roadside (as we did) during the day it was so loud my wife and I couldn't talk. At night it was much quieter. 2. Water spigots are kinda sparse. Overall I will be going back and mapped out my favorite campsites. You have to reserve them way ahead of time. There's fun stuff all around you.

The river is inaccessible on most of the stretch. The biggest issue is the other campers behaviors, partying until 4Am the one night we stayed here. Also, the highway doesn't let up until late. No host on site that we could discern.
