Riverside Campground Introduce
Nestled along the scenic Co Rd 96 in Florissant, Colorado, Riverside Campground offers a serene escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This charming campground is an ideal spot for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the great outdoors while enjoying a range of activities such as hiking, tubing, and swimming.
The campground features clean and well-maintained sites, with restrooms that are kept tidy for your convenience. While there is a water tank available, it’s important to note that there are no well water or spigots on-site. The camp host is known for their friendliness and dedication to ensuring that the campground remains in excellent condition.
One of the standout features of Riverside Campground is its proximity to the water, offering easy access to a popular tubing and swimming spot. For those who enjoy hiking, the overlook hike starting near site 6 is an easy and enjoyable trail that provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
While the campground is a beautiful and well-cared-for location, it is worth noting that it is close to the road, which can result in some traffic noise. Additionally, the camp sites are designed with a single pad for the fire pit and picnic table, which may require some creativity when setting up larger tents. Despite these minor drawbacks, Riverside Campground remains a favorite among visitors for its scenic beauty and convenient location.
- Clean and well-maintained campsites

This is a beautiful spot! I've driven past here numerous times but never camped. The sites are clean and the restrooms were clean as well. There is a water tank but no well water or spigots. The camp host was really nice and the campground is very well taken care of. You're right on the water next to a good tubing and swimming spot. The overlook hike starting in the campground next to site 6 is easy and fun. We had four groups in the walk-in sites on the far end. My only complaints and therefore the four star rating are that it's so close to the road that the traffic is loud. Boy Scout Camp Alexander is just up the road and there are busses, trucks, and other vehicles headed there. Anglers get up at the crack of dawn and therefore there's traffic at 4:45 a.m. The sites are also one big pad with the fire pit and picnic table, so unless you have a small tent and plan on having a fire, you'll have to find another spot to put your tent. We ended up on a fairly sloped spot. I would come back but I think Springer Gulch is probably more quiet.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The views were beautiful, there was easy river access, and we all enjoyed the open space for hiking. The camp spots were a bit small, and the bathrooms were only partially kept tidy, but the fire pits were large, and it wasn’t a long walk to get anywhere. My only complaint would really be the lack of shade in the area, but some hammocks and a canopy quickly fixed that. The wildflowers in the area were beautiful, as was pretty much everything else. I will definitely be staying here again
Nice out of the way CG. 3 back in sites for big rigs, 40' or larger at Riverside CG. West up the canyon not recommended for big rigs. Would be great in off season. But not recommended for the person looking for tranquil camping in the summer. Heavily fished streams, didn't see anyone catching a thing. $17 / night. 50% off for Senior Pass. Pit Toilets were very clean, nice clean area overall. Water tank with spigot for fresh potable water in jugs only. No electric, dump, or playgrounds for kids. We have a 2109s Rockwood Mini Lite, fit great in Site #1 which is a drive up and non-reservable site.
Beautiful camp site with access to the river (great fishing and even good swimming). The camp host here, Paul, was really kind. He helped us switch camp spots and he takes really good care of the campsite, providing fly tape and air fresheners and even putting little solar lights in the restroom at night. He may make you a good deal on wood if you buy several bundles!
Great campsite with beautiful views. I just wish the host would enforce their rules. Many dogs in the campground were off leash and would run through our campsite. There was also a neighboring site up until 2AM blasting music and getting rowdy. Would have been great if I could get some sleep!
