Customer Reviews
Our experience as Riverside lodge was amazing! The cabin was clean and spacious , we were able to use complimentary canoes and kayaks , our pets were able to come and most importantly the staff was so friendly and helpful! Once arriving home I realized I left behind a piece of sentimental and irreplaceable jewelry. Jessica not only found it for me but shipped it back same day! I’m forever grateful and will stay here many more times in the future!!!
"NEED A PLACE TO RESTORE YOUR SOUL AND NERVOUS SYSTEM"?..."THIS IS IT"!!! This is thankfully not a modern "KOA- Parking lot with noise but no view" this is a 1950's like "Fish Camp" style camping Quiet,Interesting,Secluded but 10 minutes from one of the nicest resort towns and beautiful water sport area in Florida and the USA. We were in a camper and our site was easy pull in with a beautiful view of the Withlacoochee River. We saw they had every kind of rustic cabin you could want from water front to secluded forest view. I am an old international boy scout master (Europe) and have worked with church youth groups. This would be a perfect campground, especially "Hidden Island" with lots of water sport activities on a safe and magnificent river. There is a fishing dock that I watched an amazed fisherman catch a fearce and powerful fish about 3-31/2 lbs. With lots of small teeth (Bowfin?) And he caught enough "Bluegills" for supper. Airboat rides can be obtained across the street There is a excellent rustic "Fish Camp" restaurant within walking distance "cod was very good and I would walk a hundred yards on my knees for their desert pies-banana and coconut cream. The owners and staff were exceptionally nice. We were already booked here and when we were at the entrance the power steering and motor stopped on a busy highway. We coasted to a stop across the street with a very hot motor. We moved to our camp site,50 feet from the magnificent river, the mechanic was delayed until dark, the owner came down an assisted the mechanic and helped us get underway to an important meeting further north. That's why we"Love" this place and keep coming back,it's our style of camping. Dr. Louis R. Kinnard Vietnam Marine Combat Medic USS Hancock CVA-19 1965/66
Mark saw I had my cat with me and checked me in several hours early to get him into the AC. I appreciated that enormously. The grounds are great and the staff is friendly. Loved the little cabin I rented. A+
RV park employees are very rude !! Very narrow maneuvering. Water coming out of spicket is between a rusty and yellow color. Low water pressure. No refunds if you are dissatisfied with your stay. Lots are not maintained. Tall grass. Lots are small. Most recently camped at lot 39, shared driveway with owners son. Smelled weed the whole time we were there. Not customer friendly !!!! YOU CANT SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED !!! This was our 3rd year in a row renting lot 35A November 4th - December 4th. We come down every year to visit our daughter and grandkids. This year we had already reserved lot 35A but due to flooding from the hurricane they had to move us to lot 39 which shared a driveway with the owners son (Mark). We were considered long term visitors per stated on our receipt. It says in the pamphlet that long term visitors could also wash RV's and Cars. On the Nov 16th my daughter and I had went fishing (salt water) in our boat and afterwards decided to fresh water wash down it at the campgrounds not thinking it would be an issue since my RV is twice as big as the boat, so it would take up much less water than washing an RV. Mark came out of his house screaming at my son in law, daughter and I for washing our boat.... I apologized to him not knowing it was an issue. He continued to complain to us that he only has 1 operational pump for the entire campgrounds and did not nearly have enough fresh water to provide for all his cabins and campground lots, let alone us washing the boat. I again apologized to him and we quit washing the boat immediately. I again told Mark there was no way for me to know that he is having water issues, and if I had known I would never have washed the boat. The next day I had my small Maltese dog (Ivory) outside going to the restroom and Mark approached me saying that my dog needs to be on a leash in a sarcastic way. I told him I would get her in a leash right away. From then on we (the whole family) felt very uncomfortable. We could feel the tension between the owners and us. No greetings or even eye contact. We decided to leave because of the uncomfortable vibes. We didn't say anything, Mark seen us packing, did not say a thing. We just left. We were suppose to pay our electric but had a $75 deposit and figured they would contact us if more was owed. We have our beginning and ending meter reading just in case. We left Nov 17th.
Great place, very quiet, also you can't really tell from the map on website but the owners put a lot of thought and effort into the way the spaces are set up, very nice. Great staff, and prices were good too!
