It’s an ideal stopover for those utilizing US-275 or a perfect destination for a budget-friendly family weekend getaway in Antelope County. The facility’s commitment to providing excellent service at a low cost truly makes it a hidden gem in Northeast Nebraska.

**Location and Accessibility**

Riverside Park Campground is centrally located at **Riverside Park, 101 Riverside Ln, Neligh, NE 68756, USA**. Neligh is the county seat of Antelope County and is situated on US Highway 275 in Northeast Nebraska, ensuring straightforward road access for residents across the state.

The park’s location is a significant draw:

  • **Elkhorn River Frontage**: The campground is located directly along the banks of the Elkhorn River, offering scenic views and easy access for water-based recreation like **tubing and kayaking**.
  • **Cowboy Trail Access**: The park is located directly on or adjacent to the **Cowboy Trail**, one of Nebraska's premier rail-trails, providing miles of compacted crushed limestone trail perfect for walking, jogging, or cycling.
  • **Proximity to Local Amenities**: The park is close to downtown Neligh, ensuring that campers are only a short distance from local eateries, museums (like the **Neligh Mill State Historic Site**), and shopping.

The accessibility is further enhanced by its reservation policy. While some sites (9-17) are reportedly first-come, first-serve, other sites (1-8) are reservable, offering both spontaneity and planning security. Campers should note that the self-check-in process (with fees deposited in a drop box) is common for city parks of this nature, simplifying arrival.

  • **Self Check-in**: Operates on a largely self-pay, self-registration system, allowing for flexible arrival times (though check-in times are often posted).

*Note: The availability of Wi-Fi is reported but noted by one user as being too slow for streaming video, typical of municipal park Wi-Fi.*
