I would give this park 10 stars if I could! We visited at the height of autumn color and it was what I've always dreamed fall should look like! Such amazing color and beauty everywhere! I'm sure it looks pretty at other times of the year, but we don't live in town, so we haven't discovered that yet. The Riverview Trail is amazing, in spite of part of it being washed out and closed. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. If you're anywhere near the area, be sure to visit in the fall!
Beautiful, wooded, wide-open area with a trail going down to river bank. The views of the Mississippi River are breathtaking. One thing to note is that taking the trail down to the river can be a bit risky. The main road down is partially collapsed with visible mud slides. Some trees have collapsed as well. The sidewalk along the railroad tracks is all mud now.
Super clean and well maintained park! The views were beautiful and the trails were easy for kids and adults! We saw the park but it was too busy for us to play out today, but it is Friday so we'll try again on a different day!
Beautiful views, places to picnic or just sit, paved roads for hiking or biking, and a beautiful view of the Mississippi. We visited from out of town in October and it was an absolutely gorgeous place to take pictures of the fall foliage along the Mississippi. Thank you to the state for making this available.
We stopped here for a picnic lunch on our way through town for an event in Springfield. It was a little hard at first to find the restroom (more signs would be great) but we’re so glad to finally find it! The view for our lunch was outstanding. Thanks for the tables and good trash cans for our waste! Wish we’d had more time so we could have explored the trails. Next time!
