Can you come out and play.
What a peaceful and serene experience! I'm not much of a "camper," but coming to Riverview Ranch was the perfect disconnect from the noisy, bustling world we live in. Highly recommended, and will definitely be back in the future! To the team: Thank you for being so hospitable and caring to your guests, we appreciate you!
I have camped 4 times annually here because I can pay an additional fee for my 15lb dog to ride in a raft with us when my family floats. I enjoy the sites by the river. It’s pretty quiet. The pool is an optional bonus. The staff and bus drivers, etc. have always been overly courteous. However one lady in the office is not. I hadn’t interacted with her a lot to make a strong opinion. Two years ago we requested one of several sites because of where we had camped the previous year. We were completely shut down with no explanation given and I thought she was rude about it. Ok. I just didn’t ask again. After this year, I won’t be returning. I have a service dog and my family was in the pool. My service dog with harness and leash as well as tags was sitting by the pool. I was told by a staff they have a no dog policy. I reported that I understood and explained my dog was a service animal. The young lady said she would talk to her boss. She returned to say that they have a no dog policy and it didn’t matter if my dog was a service animal. I sat outside the pool fence in an attempt to let my sons enjoy the pool, but it wasn’t a very good experience for obvious reasons. Then my adult son (who is a person of color) went to the store to get 2 C batteries for our air pump. He was questioned by the owner if he was camping there. Seriously!? Who would drive to a camp store to pay double the cost for batteries unless they were camping there!? And if they did, why would you turn down $7 for 2 C batteries. I’m totally turned off and will find a different location for my family to float next year.
We had a nice safe float, even though we've had more than our share of rain lately. The river was murky and not running fast. But we saw loads of turtle families sunning on the logs, a blue heron and a bald eagle. Not quick enough with the camera to get a picture of the eagle.
