Roamstead Smoky Mountains Campground

This place was great! It was our first mini retreat with our newborn and we just wanted some time to unplug and recharge. The staff were extremely friendly and the cabin was very clean and comfortable. Looking at starting a family tradition and returning frequently.

This was the perfect stay for us! We came to Gatlinburg a day earlier than the rest of our family and needed a place to stay. We were lucky to find availability a few days before departure. It was misting rain when we arrived, so we weren’t able to use the fire pit or walk on the trail. The layout of the cabins and campsites is great. They are perfectly situated so that when you sit out on your porch, you aren’t looking directly onto the porch of your neighbor and you can enjoy the creek that runs through the property. We would definitely stay here again and would love to come when the weather is warmer. I love that they are dog friendly and the staff is very nice.

We stayed at Roamstead with a group of friends for the week of New Years Eve and had a great time the whole week we were there. We love the multiple options for places to stay. RV, cabin, lodge, yurt or airstream. There is something for every family. The grounds are beautiful and so natural, amenities are unique and so great. The playground, rock climbing wall and hanging hammocks were super fun for the kiddos. The pizzas were super yummy and barista did a great job at the bar. We just cannot wait to go back during the summer sometime!!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here in July 2023. I believe it was their opening weekend. Such friendly staff, very nice pool, loved all the games you could borrow and take back to your site as well as community games outside. Feels like you're camping at a friend's house the way they care about you and your stay. This Roamstead will forever have a special spot in my heart because this very campsite changed the trajectory of our lives! 😅 we welcomed our 1st beautiful baby girl the following April 💕 10/10 will return many times in the future with our Daughter.

This was the most amazing camping experience. Everything was perfect about our yurt and its location. The staff were so friendly and informative on all things camping and places to go for fun. Food and coffee were great. The bathhouses were super clean and the showers had stalls with doors that lock to provide extra privacy, which we loved. Can’t wait to visit again and again.
