The "creek was peaceful and shower facilities were cute and clean," providing a serene backdrop of flowing water that enhances relaxation and natural immersion. This auditory experience is a major draw for those looking to escape urban noise.

  • Exceptional Cleanliness: The bathhouse receives consistent praise for being "cleanest in a private campground." This dedication to cleanliness ensures a comfortable and pleasant experience for all guests, a critical factor for many campers.

  • Small, Privately Owned Charm: Unlike larger, more commercial campgrounds, Roan Creek offers an intimate and personal feel. Being privately owned, with "Danny the owner" present and helpful, fosters a welcoming community vibe where guests feel valued.

Nearby areas offer opportunities for hiking, fishing, and exploring the broader Appalachian region, including destinations like the Appalachian Trail and Cherokee National Forest, though these would require a drive.

We stayed here for four nights in November. Very small privately owned campground. Danny the owner was great! The creek was peaceful and shower facilities were cute and clean. It’s a little intimidating pulling into the campground off of the road but we managed. Nearest restaurants and grocery stores are in Mountain City 15 minutes away. Would definitely like to go back when the temperatures are not as cold. However, the beautiful leaf colors were amazing this time of year.

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful spots. Other campers were friendly, we built fires, ate snores, dinners together.
