Customer Reviews
The location of this campground is both a positive positive and negative. It is right beside the highway taking you into Winter Park and over the pass. Because of that,aa you always hear road noise on the other hand it’s a great campground because there are streams running through it, tall, tall trees, path up into the mountain behind the campground. It’s very beautiful and green and not a dusty hot campground. We got the lovely spot at the end of the campground with a little bridge over the stream. The spot is huge and really fun with kids and animals. It did rain all night blocked out the road noise. The sound of the vehicles could drive a person, crazy, especially the big trucks and their air brakes. They were also lots of helicopters overhead. strange.
This is a nice little camp ground right along side the highway. But that is the one drawback, it is right along side the highway. With that being the only issue it is still a nice place to camp. Some may see the car and truck noise as a deal breaker but for everything else I felt it was worth it. The area has 11 campsites. Some are going to be tent only but others I could get my truck camper in and a few (I think 2) you could back a small trailer into. The sites are very nice with picnic tables, and fire pits. The one I started at even had 2 huge logs around the fire pit to sit on. A small river also runs along the road and that is nice but it is to close to the road to sit and enjoy the sound. We stayed 4 night and the last 2 we moved to a spot that had the stream running right next to it. This site even had a bridge over the stream to get to the fire pit and table. This one made the weekend. We could hear the stream all night. The only other amenity is pit tolets but they are handy just not for the "weak of heart". I can verify the Verizon signal is 3-4 bars and I was able to upload videos without much issue. Overall a nice place if not for the road
Large campsites, plenty of shade, several creeks close by, Nice metal fire pits, decent outhouse, bear lockers for your food. The U.s. 40 highway is close to the site and is very busy and noisy allthrough the day and night. Lots of great hiking trails connected right to the campsites probably could have gave it five out of five if it wasn't for the highway noise. Good camp spot.
Good afternoon, on Sunday, July 2, we went camping. Unfortunately we lost my dog... if anyone saw her or has her, we just want to know if she is okay. It hurts us to know that something had happened to him. I would appreciate if you could give me information.
This place could be awesome but it is very run down and beat up. Picnic tables falling apart. New ones have been put in but the old ones are still there for you to trip over. Other campgrounds in area are much better taken care of.
