I arrived when it was dark and cold on the week of Christmas for a hike at the Ewing trail the next morning. I got lost and the owner came out and kindly directed me where to go. He upgraded me to an RV spot next to the barn instead of the tent site I purchased because there was light and it was closer to all the amenities. The camping sites are well kept and the bathroom was very nice. This place was a lifesaver because I got to camp for a very affordable close to the trail rather than buy a more expensive hotel in Middlesboro.

Hands down the absolute best camp we’ve ever stayed at. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He checked on us to make sure we were okay during a storm and even gave us and our horses a ride to a different trail head. The camp itself was in a convenient location, clean/well kept, the sites were easy to get a trailer in and out of, stalls and corrals for the horses, WiFi, electric and water.. all you could ask for. We will definitely come back soon. 10/10 recommend.

I stopped her on a whim as I was checking out the trailhead for a hike I was planning to do the next morning. Not wanting to drive far, I saw a sign for the horse campground, and thought I'd ask if they accept tent campers. I was welcomed into the facility by several horse camping people, and also met one of the owners who was surrounded by happy bounding dogs that loved all over me. She took the time to show me where the tent area was, and it was secluded and beautiful. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a "walk in", and I happily set up my tent. The facility is well maintained, cleaned, and beautiful. There are no showers or flush toilets, but the porta-potty was spotless. There are also some sodas that you can purchase, and a sink station, and lots of water spigots throughout. I spent the evening sitting around a picnic table with a horse club, as they kindly invited me to join them. I learned about horse trailers (I know nothing about that stuff), and what horses can and can't do on trails. We also all shared some funny stories from our outdoor adventures. I awoke and enjoyed my cup of coffee in the field, watching all the goings-on of the farm, and the dogs and sheep milling about. With the ridgeline in the back, it was the best way to spend a morning. Thank you to the owners for welcoming me and their hospitality. This is a hidden gem for day hikers and backpackers, looking for a quiet bit of rest among the lovely horses.

Safe secure location at the base of White Rock overlook. There is a new bath house with an outdoor sink to co dishes etc. The one downside is that all the trails are out and back BUT John is more than happy to drop you off at various locations to ride other sections. You can ride all the way back or ride sections hand have him pick you up at other trail heads. The stalls are huge so if you have a big horse, no worries. You will need shoes as the trails are ROCKY and you do ride some blacktop if you are riding out and back from camp. The scenery is amazing and well worth the climb. A late May or early June ride will ensure lots of Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel blooms. Enjoy!
