Looking for a first come first tent site in Moab is hard. But 40 minutes north is a great site. The temperature was 10 degrees lower than in town. That was a plus. Good spacing from the other sites. And there were sites available probably because of the distance from town. Castle valley is great. The skies were covered with visable stars and the night was silent except for the rustle of wind.

$15 a vehicle is too steep when 100 yards up the road is public land. Fortunately, if you can't find room along the river, this place will likely have you covered. Do your recon before you arrive in the area though, this is a campground of last resort.

Very nice and secluded. No water or bathrooms, and a $20 a night fee.

Back country campground off the La Sal Mountain Loop from Moab. Beautiful views. Campsites are self pay of $20 a night with picnic tables and fire pits. There is a clean pithouse building. No potable water. Bears may be in the area so take precautions.
