Awesome place to camp! There are trails and a boat launch to explore. Nice park and beach. It does kinda wreck it a little where you can't have your generators running after 10pm, but it is quite and peaceful.
Beautiful sites large enough with room to stretch nice fire pits easy access to the lake. Hand pumps for water and standard outhouse locations.
The Camp ground was great! Everything was in walking distance from our site. The sand at the swim beach was soft. The outhouses where clean. We where not about to catch many fish to windy! There where many places to go and get fire wood. The bugs where not so bad. Over all we had a fantastic time.
This simple state campground has a lot to offer when looking to get away. Settled just West of Brainerd, it's only minutes north of Pilager on Rock Lake. For $15/night it'll be easy on the wallet while offering a high potential for great summer memories. The campground is set up in two loops, offers a small number of really nice lakeside sites. Some sites are canopied by tall pines while others are in the open or surrounded by prairie grasses. We had site 4, long in depth and lots of shade. They have a number of basic outhouses for bathrooms & waterpumps to get you the basics. The walk towards the beach offers a few places to shore fish, offering up sunnies, blue gills, perch and the occasional bass. There is a public access landing & dock to drop your boat as you approach the beach. The beach area offers lots of picnic tables and benches for hanging out. The beach is well kept allowing for a lot of fun and a cool break from the summer heat. All in all, a nice little campground.
Can't complain for the price. Beautiful views and nice walking trails. Right next to Pillsbury State Forest!!!!
