It was my first visit on 10/12/2024. Really enjoyed the hike. The purple trail was a little steep but manageable. Very nice view from King and Queen Seats. A great place to enjoy nature.

One of the most beautiful places in Northern Maryland for sure. A short, vigorous hike will take you to the King and Queen Seat, which offers incredible views across the countryside. The rock formation is beautiful and great for rappelling (which I have done several times). In the late afternoon, the wind in the trees and birdsong is serene and almost hypnotic. Please make the trip here. And don't forget to take a stroll along Deer Creek at the bottom of the rocks.

Excellent day trip to Kilgore falls (1-2 easy-to-moderate 0.5mi graded trail to lower pool, top of the falls more difficult hike/climb. King and Queen Seat a beautiful view, less than 0.5mi trail from parking lot.

I really enjoyed this park and would have gave it a 5 star review. However, although I understand the park Rangers have a job to do by protecting the environment, they were very rude. I'll say this much, they need to be more organized and for the amount of space their is in the park area, for people to be at, there was a lot of empty benches. There is a fee per car and per person(which wasn't expensive at all) On the more positive side of this review, the park is beautiful!! Has trails, a river and the king and queen rock at the top of the mountain. The park has grills, benches, and public bathrooms to use. No garbage cans are there, as you are responsible for bringing your own garbage bags and taking your trash with you. Hopefully in the future they are more organized and professional (especially the park Ranger with the beard 🤨)

This is a great park for a quick hike with beautiful views. The trails are steep and rocky, so be ready for a work out.
