Rocky Pond Campground Introduce

🎣 A Hidden Gem: Rocky Pond Campground Introduction / Overview

For Kansas residents traveling through the north-central part of the state or seeking an incredibly affordable and well-equipped stopover, Rocky Pond Campground in Belleville is a must-consider destination. This facility is more than just a place to park; it is an integral part of the Belleville City Park system, built around the historic 48-acre Rocky Pond, which has been utilized for recreation for decades. Originally used as a water supply for steam engines on the Rock Island Railroad, the pond was later deeded to the City of Belleville and has been maintained as a community recreational asset.

The campground operates on a simple, self-service model, making it exceptionally easy for visitors. It is celebrated by local users for offering full 50-amp hookups at a remarkably low price of just $20 per night. This competitive rate for full utility service (water, electric, and sewer) makes it an outstanding value proposition for RV travelers and a popular spot for those staying longer, as it also offers discounted weekly and monthly rates. While the main focus is on accommodating RVs, the park also welcomes tent campers, providing free access to primitive or grassy tent sites on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reviews consistently highlight the pleasant, peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of being a city park. Campers appreciate the amenities that are often associated with much more expensive facilities, such as the full hookups and the inclusion of a large, fenced-in dog park. The park's location, surrounded by the small pond and neighboring cornfields, offers a tranquil, classic Kansas landscape, perfect for a relaxing stay of any duration.

Nice city park, and only $20 for full 50amp hookups! Locals fishing all over the lake. They have cabins for rent and wood floor tent sites as well as grass tent sites. very nice place to stop for a night or a week, or whatever. They have weekly and Monthly rates as well. There were plenty of sites available when we were there. They have a large dog park as well.

Stayed in a tiny home cabin with my family of 4- I loved the space and private bathroom! Much nicer than most expensive KOA cabins we have stayed in with great prices. Can't say enough good things about it. Thought it was strange they specifically say no alcohol though so take note on the rules Playground and lake were right in front of us to walk over and fish/let the kids play
