We had a fantastic time camping at Lake Roosevelt! The views were incredible, and the water was perfect for cooling off the dog, it was too cold for me. We were hoping for a little more natural shade, but we spaced on the fire situation, so we had to adjust. Thankfully, we brought a pop-up for shade, and it was a game-changer! It made all the difference in keeping us comfortable during the hot parts of the day. Overall, it was a great trip—beautiful scenery, plenty of space, and a relaxing getaway. Just make sure to plan for shade if you’re heading out there! We’ll definitely be back.
Interesting weekend by the water. We went in on Friday afternoon and found a good spot next to the water. You can swim and it is not that deep for quit a way out. Aside from a few loud moments you can hear the water all night and there was lots of space. Some people launched small boats right from the campsites. The night sky is amazing and I should have taken my telescope. I will go back again but not so close to a holiday. Tonto pass is required and it’s first come first serve so go early to get good spots. Cell reception is spotty but good for text and maybe emergency calls. It is sandy so a lot of common sense when driving around in there.
Beautiful lake! Even in mid September, the water felt amazing!
