As of April, 2022, this camping park is Amazing and definitely worth the visit. Park was still partially closed due to winter weather conditions. RV camping with water, electricity and dump but no tent camping, no bathrooms open yet. Definitely make online reservations. Check weather conditions before visiting. Area gets severe weather conditions. During our stay, temps dropped to the 20's with severe gusty winds. Lake is very low with only light fishing and boating activity. Views are gorgeous, with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Lots of wildlife. Host and rangers were friendly and welcoming. Only 20 minutes to town of Ignacio for food, fuel, shopping and Casino. Only 45 minutes to Durango. Highly recommend but be prepared.
Great views and nicely spaced camp sites. Not a lot of trees for shade, bit some of the sites have built in shade canopies. The reason for a 4 star is the fire rings have a steele base you are supposed to put your fire on and most of the sites it is warped and doesn't seem safe.
As of Labor Day weekend (2024), there is an unchecked mosquito infestation throughout the Rosa loop. Facilities are nice, but we couldn’t spend any time outside of our camper without being eaten alive.
Great campsite... easy access to boat ramp and short scooter ride for SUP use... bathrooms and showers are good! Lots of hot water...
Very Pleasent! The volunteer came over and was kind and introduced himself. We discussed campers and repair and general information about the park.
nice campground, clean and lots of space. washrooms were great, even had a laundry. not many treed sites. we didn't get a chance to look around as most of our time was used to dry out and clean up after driving for 2 days in the rain. lake looked nice
