I went for the Rose Valley Falls Trail and loved it! Great little hike with some awesome views. I highly recommend checking out the trail. I saw little designated campsites that I later found out you can reserve.

This campground is currently closed (Jan 2021), reservation is available starting in February 2021 online. The waterfall trailhead is through the campground, on the far LEFT side as you walk in. Easy trail, kids and family friendly, may need to hop over some small creek and mud.

Nice stargazing and only a short hike from Rose Valley Falls. The low water crossing at the entrance is washed out and may be too rough for people with low-clearance vehicles. No real enforcement of quiet hours or vehicle parking limits, unfortunately -- our first night we had a loud party next to us.

Rose valley campground is a great spot to spend some nights and hike, the waterfall is the main attraction and is only about 10 min walk from the parking lot, very easy to do. Don’t forget to pay your dues, the campground manager checks often if everything is in order. There is no shade in this campground, bring tarps, summer months gets lots of sun and some insects that look like flies or gnats are around. There is only one site that offers tree shade but is easily taken, coveted by many. Latrine style bathrooms available August 2019 $20 per night $10 day use

DO NOT COME CAMP HERE WITH AN RV the road coming in is not maintained. Right outside there was a huge, truck long, at least a foot deep puddle taking up the whole road. You cannot avoid it and its not a pleasure to try to drive through with a trailer. Many cars were sitting outside the campground because of the puddle. Secondly, all the other spots seem ok?? We got spot two and getting into that spot it dips down into a small ravine and its a steep climb back up into the landing for the site. We scraped our tow hitch really bad, bent the bumper on our trailer, and bent the spare tire spot on the trailer. Getting up that hill was a challenge, our wheels were spinning in the dirt, theres huge rocks all to one side, we barely made it up. Once we got the trailer up there, we managed to get it on the one level spot in the site. We tried to see if we could turn the trailer around with a trailer dolly but the trailer was trying to escape us and was sliding with the cone. We took all of our stuff and had to abandon the trailer attached to the dolly, camp somewhere else in the truck for the night and hope and pray it didn't roll. It was unsafe to sleep in, and we had kids. Park Rangers gave us the code to a gate that was at the site and in the daylight we were able to back it into the gate to turn around. But it was not easy, the ground is all sandy so trying to back up, up hill... its a miracle we got everything out no damages. Completely ruined our trip and they should not have that spot advertised as RV friendly. Go to Wheeler Gorge, it doesnt say it on the website but we talked to the owner there and they have spots that can accommodate RVs

Very easy short hike to the best waterfall in southern California. I always jump at the chance to share this place with a new friend. On a scale of 1 to 5 for hike difficulty I would score it at a 1. It's more like a 15 min walk than a hike, one way. There are two streams you need to cross that could be difficult for an elderly person but with a helper it should be manageable if you can walk without a walker.

Beautiful hiking trails, I thoroughly enjoyed the trek to Rose Valley Falls. It's not a particularly difficult hike, and the reward is well worth it. It feels almost magical.

Super tiny campground with one vault toilet that gets very used with all the hikers coming through. It's quiet and peaceful at night but lots of foot traffic during the day with people looking for the trails. There isn't any shade coverage so be prepared to bring easy ups if you want shade.
