What a cool find! High elevation granite, on the backside of Lakes Basin Recreation Area. Almost a 4WD road. Steep, narrow, high clearance would be ideal, but I made die w/ Saabaru AWD. No way RVs or trailers; Camper vans okay. Truck campers okay. Get a USDA forest map. Snow possible OCT-APR. Solo, primitive, hard to reach and secluded. Saw 4 people the whole weekend. Flowing fresh creek, wildflowers, aspens for autumn colors. I will be back for sure.
