Me my wife and our daughter stayed at round up lake last weekend. We had a blast all the other campers and seasonal capers where very nice and fun to hang around with. We had such a great time that we are going back this weekend. Well worth tthe over 2 hour drive from columbus.
This is the best campground around. They have something for everyone. They have kids' activities and adult activities. If you haven't been here, you're missing out!!
Great campground for Tent, RV or Cabin camping. Super nice people work here. Not a single Karen in the bunch. Big lake, stocked with fish. There is a 33" Northern Pike that they want you to catch and kill (it's eating all the fingerlings). Live bands on Saturday nights, bingo on Friday. A different theme each weekend. Plenty of hot water and water pressure in the showers. Firewood is delivered to your site. Lockers are available (BYO lock) Full coin laundry. Tons of play scapes for the kids. Looks like they have their own firetruck. Good-sized Beach area. Dog Park is fenced in so your pooch can play with others. Highly Recommend.
We stayed in a ranger cabin, which was very nice for a family of six. These cabins are new, and it’s easy and fun to cook in the kitchen. It’s nice to have the outdoor grill, too. The heated pool is very nice, too. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here. What’s disappointing is their false representation of their amenities. I thought I could travel light since there is a laundry there, right? Turns out the laundry (in the building by the lake)has ancient machines that you don’t even have to try to know they won’t work. Maybe there’s a newer laundry somewhere else that I didn’t find? You check out the mini golf which is also on the campground map as well as online…surprise!(or not)… it’s all grown up in weeds and small trees…you ask the staff about it and they can’t remember it ever being in use…why then is it advertised as being there when clearly it isn’t? The kayaks have no paddles…You ask the staff where they are?…Oh those are the seasonal people’s kayaks. Again, that would be perfectly fine if it weren’t falsely advertised. It’s not the staff’s fault that someone is doing this false advertising. It’s truly unique to see how the seasonal people decorate around their RVs with porches, plants, walkways, and lights. It was very quiet and peaceful at night. So it’s not a bad place, only they do not represent a true picture of what’s available for use, and some of the things are only available on weekends and that isn’t made clear, either. If you have young children who were excited about some of these things that turn out not to be there, it’s disappointing. The pedal carts are fun for children, but in all the days we were there, our children only found one that didn’t have flat tires. We saw children biking on their own bikes that they had brought along. My son wished we had brought his. That would have been a good idea, since so many of the pedal carts can’t be used.
We were invited to spend Labor Day weekend with my sister and brother in law at Roundup Lake Campground about four years ago and now it's a family tradition. We rent several rustic cabins for our kids and grandchildren every Labor Day weekend and can't wait to go every year. From the scheduled activities and the fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming at the beach and the inground pool, to the firetruck rides and golf cart parade and my favorite part which is the bands on Saturday and Sunday night and how everyone drives their golf carts and parks drive in style. I absolutely love this place. The only complaints are the beds and the showers. But, I barely remember that after we leave.
