I needed a central location as a base camp for myself and my teen daughter for two nights. Budget was a priority for us, and this place had a reasonable rate, so we gave it a try. We car camped and had everything we needed to get a good night's rest so we could get up and out for two full days' worth of activities. This is a smaller place with just the basics. If you require additional amenities, there are many other options in the area. There is power at the pull-up tent sites to run your electrical needs, like lights and electronics. The remaining spots are pull-ups and pull-throughs for RVs with hookups. We used one of the smaller RV pull-ups because I wanted the 30 amps for running a small fridge and heat/AC system for sleeping in the car. Everyone was very friendly and respectful, and the place quieted down by 10 PM to a whisper. You can hear the rumble of the main road in the distance, but I didn't find it distracting. We were situated at the back of the property, just next to the tent sites, making us about 135 meters (148 yards) from the road. There are small motel suites on the property too. The units are older and from an earlier time when things were much simpler. I like their vintage character, even in their well-loved state. The owner was telling me he plans to update them along with the property’s other amenities over the coming months, and I liked what he was planning. It makes me want to stop in next season to see how his updates are progressing. I want to add how accommodating and personable the owner was to us and the other campers during our stay. On our last day, I had the opportunity to chat with him a little bit, and I learned he's only had the property for a short time. I also learned he came from a former career as an automotive tradesman and business owner. He succeeded in that career by doing the job right through hard work and critical thinking, and he's carrying that same work ethic over into his latest business venture. That's the type of small business owner I want to get behind and support. That's why I gave him five stars.
This site is what it is. A campground. You didn't come to this campground to do activities. You came for the Niagara Falls activities. We had a back in site for out 40 ft rv and car we hauled. It was AMPLE room for us. We had shade because of campers and trees. There is concrete or Asphalt all over with huge drains. It was very quiet even with them renovating the motel rooms towards the entrance. They seemed to be doing some upgrades but out with the "old" first. We stayed a week. They often mowed within that time. Kept areas clean for the next camper to arrive mowing, edging, and using a blower to blow any others things out of your way. We parked on the edge of our site and could have parked our car next to the RV but used that area as a patio. The "Over the Falls" Niagara Falls activity brought their bus to us with no problem picking us up. Most days we drove up there and were there within 15 minutes. Yes this park doesn't have a pool but there's so much more do here than swim like any other place. The park was clean, safe, easy to get to Niagara falls.
50 Amp Campers Beware! We booked a pull through site with 50 amp electric service and were told that we would have 50 amp service with the site we had set up at. However, our surge protector kept alarming and wouldn't permit 50 amp service. We tested several of the sites, but it seems there is a wiring short/electric issue going on throughout the campground. We only had 20 amp the entire time. For 75$ a night I would expect the electric to be properly maintained and functioning. Owner wouldn't answer the phone when we first arrived for check in, and wasn't even at the campground. No signs noting that he would be right back, no additional phone numbers left to reach him, no info. Sign said open and was lit up, but he wasn't there. Overall, it's a campground. It's got slabs for parking your camper/unit. And it's the only one in the area open year round. But for 75$ a night I would have expected better.
Small but spacious campground, just minutes from Niagara Falls. The sites are all paved, easily maneuverable and quite spacious--our pull-thru spot had room for our 43' 5th wheel and 2 large vehicles. The owner was friendly and kind, always responsive. Although the water wasn't turned on yet (still freezing temps at night) we were able to utilize the campground's extra long hose to fill and flush our tanks multiple times. We would certainly consider staying here again.
We traveled up to Niagara Falls off season in a 32ft Class C towing a vehicle with our 2 boys & 2 dogs. Our goal was to show our kids snow for the 1st time. We needed a camp site with pull through lots & this site was all we found that was open year round. Admittedly we were concerned about the negative reviews however we are SO glad we stayed there. We stayed one night to visit Niagara Falls & it was exactly what we needed. The staff were SO very accommodating & helpful to us. We were delayed bc of high winds so we were very late with checking in & he even called to check on us since we hadn’t arrived. This was our first RV experience & they were helpful with showing us how to fill our tanks & dump black water tanks etc. We used 30 amp hookup with no problem. Since its winter there’s no water hookup at our site (but there’s none ANYWHERE up north bc the lines will freeze) yet we could use the main water hose from the office. It was only a 25 min drive to Niagara & very close to Wevmann’s grocery, restaurants, & only a mile from a RV center for filling propane tanks. Sure there’s a little motel onsite that is older & run down, yes I was concerned about that, but he had a wonderful handyman onsite working on remodeling & upgrading it. Don’t let the age of the motel prevent you from staying here. We were able to use a shower onsite with hot water & good pressure. The campsites were clean, paved, & they had strict rules for cleaning up after pets. Our boys walked the dogs, played ball & played in the little bits of snow outside. We truly had an amazing experience there & are SO GRATEFUL for the kind & friendly staff. It was exactly what we needed. Go stay there!!
