Running River Campground

Running River has new owners... Charles & Jennifer are doing a great job at making this conveniently located campground a 1st pick for the area! Clean Bathrooms & Shower & Limited cell reception when there is none available in the area! They are the nicest and most considerate folks I have ever encountered!! We had a vehicle break down and these proud new owners went above and beyond 1000% to assist us. My son and I are so thankful for people like this when there are so many other options that disappoint.

Nice place to camp, friendly helpful owners, you can rent for floats be picked up and dropped off, free shower house which was great after floating all day, and the store saved us when we forgot part of our food and didnt have much for dinner! It was a great stay for our family and we will return.

I only visited the gas station. Super friendly worker. Just like at home, grab your food out of the fridge and warm it up in the microwave.

We stayed at Running River Campground over the Labor Day weekend. Great campground, under new ownership, not far from the river. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There is currently one bathroom/shower area shared by the campground, as the other side is under construction. We were told this ahead of our visit and at check-in. It wasn't a big deal though. Everyone made it work. The campground has tons of shady camping spots and some electric sites for tent campers. The store has ice, firewood, fuel pumps, and lots of other camping and floating essentials. We floated with Carr's Canoe Rental(they are amazing too). The owner Jen coordinates with them on pickup times to shuttle to the river, making your payments for floating, etc. I don't know what else to say. It was just a great experience and we will definitely be back!

The owners are very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The shower house is currently being renovated and only 1 person can use the toilet/shower at a time, as there are no divisions or doors. Overall, it was a nice stay tent camping, but beware of stray dogs, as they tore our tent open for packaged food.

Wonderful place to stay for shade and privacy, but the bathrooms are terrible. Only the women's side was open; the toilets have no privacy curtains or doors (minus the entering door), nor do the showers. The outhouses were typical outhouses and dirty. So if you have a camper it would be a nice place, but recommend against tent camping unless you are looking to rough it a bit.
