Customer Reviews
This is an excellent campground to relax at. While not being totally secluded in trees, you do still have trees around you with a little bit of shade offering you a nice woodsy feeling. The sites are fairly level and paved with a small Stone area, including a picnic table and fire ring. Like most state parks. This has been an enjoyable camping experience. It appears to be a well-maintained campground.
We have come to love Bald Eagle State Park. It is a very friendly and quiet place to camp. Within a mile from the camping area is a nice boat launch with boat rental and a beach area with pavilions for group day use. The camping sites are large and well kept. You are not very close to your neighbor campers. And the bathroom/shower houses are kept immaculate by DCNR staff. There are maybe 12 sites with full hook-ups and many more with electricity only. And prices are very reasonable. Almost forgot to tell you, each pad is paved for easy use.
Our second time here and have to say it's a very nice campground with spacious sites. Would have given 5 stars if there was a little more shade. Could be brutal on a hot, sunny day. Very quite with nice rest rooms. We will be back!
Stayed 1 night(a Thursday) on our way to State College. We had a full hook-up site on the non-pet loop-Oak Loop. Site #06. We did not make a reservation, just showed up, checked the board for available sites and paid with the envelope/honor system. $46.50 which seems expensive for a state park but it was well kept and in a beautiful location in Bald Eagle State Park. There is a Pets Loop too but it was pretty full. Camp Host was on Site #01 and very friendly. Gave me a ride out to the envelope drop so I didn’t need to walk out. Beautiful views of the mountains. We did not use any facilities. They had a few boat ramps, beach area, big playground area, and multiple hiking trails. It was just an overnight but looked very family friendly and had fall activities happening that weekend. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Sites were blacktop or stone. Was able to get signal for Dish TV and 3 bars on T-Mobile phone service. Would stay there again.
Love it. I host here every year. Great sites a variety of hook up options. Pet and non pet accommodations. Yurts and cabins. Flush toilets and state park temperature hot water😅
