While it offers a quiet, country setting, its proximity to MN-64 means you won't have to venture far off the beaten path to reach your destination. This balance of seclusion and accessibility is a significant advantage for Minnesotans looking for a straightforward journey to their outdoor retreat.

Akeley, often known as the "Birthplace of Paul Bunyan," is a small but welcoming community in the Heartland Lakes region of Minnesota. The campground's location puts it within a 15-minute drive of three nearby towns, ensuring that essential amenities like gas stations, convenience stores, and cozy dining options are readily available. For those traveling from larger Minnesota cities, Akeley is a manageable drive. From the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul), it's typically a 2.5 to 3-hour drive, making it an ideal distance for a weekend escape. Its central Northern Minnesota location also makes it accessible for campers coming from other parts of the state, bridging the gap between urban centers and the deep Northwoods.

The campground's direct access from a state highway ensures that even larger RVs can navigate to the property with ease. While the sites themselves are designed to be spacious and private, the overall property is described as having tried to "maintain a balance of nature while making the sites as RV friendly as possible." This thoughtful design means that despite being set within an 80-acre Norway pine plantation, getting your rig in and out should be a smooth process. The blend of easy access and a truly natural setting makes RV There Yet Campground an excellent choice for a hassle-free journey into Minnesota's renowned outdoors.

Services Offered

RV There Yet Campground focuses on providing a natural and serene camping experience, offering essential services to ensure a comfortable stay for its guests. While it aims to preserve the wilderness feel, key amenities are available to enhance your time in the Northwoods. Based on available information and owner statements, here are the services you can expect:

  • Spacious RV Sites: All sites are approximately 10,000 square feet in size, offering ample space for your RV and outdoor living. They are designed for easy drive-through access, accommodating various RV sizes.
  • Semi-Private Sites: The property maintains about 50 feet of trees between each site, providing a good level of semi-privacy. This allows campers to feel immersed in nature without being on top of their neighbors.
  • Portable Restrooms: For convenience, portable restrooms are available on-site. While not full bathhouses, they provide necessary facilities directly within the campground area.
  • Yard Hydrant: Campers have access to a yard hydrant for fresh water, which is a crucial amenity for RVers needing to fill their tanks.
  • Dump Station: An on-site dump station is available, allowing RVers to properly dispose of their wastewater before departing.
  • Fire Rings and Picnic Tables: Each site is equipped with a fire ring for campfires and a picnic table, perfect for outdoor meals and evening gatherings under the stars.

  • Generators Allowed: For those needing power, generators are permitted during your stay, offering flexibility for off-grid camping.
  • Future Expansion Plans: The campground is continuously developing new sites and accommodations, with plans to add more sites and a multi-unit site in the future, indicating a commitment to improving and expanding guest offerings while maintaining privacy.

It's important to note that currently, the campground does not offer full hookups (electric, water, sewer at each site), as confirmed by the owner and reviews. However, the provision of a yard hydrant for water and a dump station for waste management mitigates this. For booking, RV There Yet Campground primarily uses Hipcamp, where they have a high positive rating, indicating a strong commitment to guest satisfaction from the host, who is a "Star Host."

I am the owner of RV There Yet Campground and I am concerned about a review that was left. It would seem that "King 11 (J Rock)" left a single star in all three categories without leaving any comment, but I don't understand why. As far as I know, this individual has not stayed at my campground. The review was left three weeks ago and the only guests I had at that time were a group from Alexandria who plan on returning at a later date, and an individual who spent one night while traveling on his motorcycle. Both left positive public reviews on Hipcamp where I do all my bookings and have 11 reviews and a 97% positive rating. If the individual reads this, I would appreciate it if he would contact me and explain why he left the negative review.
