Was a tiring 4.5 round trip but we took it rather slow and stopped at a bunch of spots. It’s really beautiful here. Absolutely loved this hike. Would do it again but gotta be ready for a well decent amount of exercise.
New favorite hike. Can see pacific, Columbia River, hood, Helens, Rainer, Adams all on a sunny day. Not super difficult. Was able to trail run 90% of way down.
Easy excellent trail with spectacular views and lots of pretty flowers! Appreciated all the trail work to make it a safer journey. The wire offers excellent traction, just need to watch your footing on the broken/pokie spots. Without wire it's impossible given the steepness. Definitely NOT dog friendly. Too high of risk for paw injury. Also note, contrary to many other sources and sign at entrance, there is NO CAMPING.
Beautiful and peaceful, especially when it is a clear and sunny day. It gets a little tough towards the end but it's worth it
The climb to Saddle Mountain scenic view is unforgettable, this is a hike for experienced people and beginners should be prepared for a rough ascend ahead. The view at the top is worth the climb!
