We stayed for the second time here and we had an absolute blast. This time we had an ocean view site and it was incredibly beautiful to wake up to the sunrise over the water. We love it here. I wish I could live here to be honest with you. The ocean / “beach” is one of the most amazing things you can see. The owners are such kind people and we love chatting with them. The land is such a quiet and peaceful place. We will definitely be back!!!!
friendly staff pretty views. fairly clean campground and restrooms. Very small tent spaces with no privacy. And this is a big pet peeve of mine, if you call it a tent site I expect a place to put a tent, a platform, a nice chunk of grass, something. Hell at the very least have a level spot if nothing else. For the price I expect a better tent site.
Such a lovely place. Right on a cove with low and high tide. A gorgeous tide beach to walk forever, beware of the fog. The fog bank was beautiful. Sites were level and tight but plenty of privacy. All campers were very friendly. The woman that checked us in was very friendly. They sold ice, wood and clam digging licences. Great place. Dog friendly, lots for doggies to do.
Nice region, owners are nice and all. Campsites are ok, some are smaller than others. Little beach and water front was nice. The very big down point is the bath houses (shower, bathroom). They have not been cleaned throughout our stay and they most likely had not been cleaned for a while. Hand paper distributors did not work, mold on the shower curtains and in the showers themselves. Would not be a repeat for us.
I wanted to leave as soon as I arrived. Picked this campground because reviews seemed good, pictures looked nice, website seemed good. Rolling up to the office, I said "this doesn't look how I thought it was going to look". The office receptionist was very nice but the office was a dark mess of years and years of clutter and smelled like someone used to smoke in there. The first thing I was told is that "I had to move you" ... Didn't ever find out exactly why but I was feeling a little overwhelmed in the moment. She waffled about giving me a spot that was more "private" or one that was "water view". ? I think I reserved one that was described as "flat" and in an area with wifi service (did I imagine this?) because I opted to pay a little extra for those 2 features. Okay uh I guess I'll take the private one. So we go over there and it's a mess. The site was not actually all that flat (she was concerned about that for us) and it was like an instant mosquito attack because of the deep woods. I'm also going to guess there was a lot of standing water in the big pile of junk and debris on the site across from us, or maybe the overflowing trash can at the top of the hill. We went back to the office and asked about something else, and she said the last one she had was over here etc. ok let's check it out. It was moderately flat and much more open so that seemed better. Okay fine it's settled. Something about the land there makes everything perpetually moist. There is no gravel left on the roads and everything was muddy. I went to take a shower and my husband asked me "how was it?" "Like showering at a gas station" I replied. But like the kind of gas station where you have to ask for the key and the bathroom is around the side. No floor drain out side the shower, no mats, no shower curtain, just a wet and muddy wood floor. Women's bathroom was okay, but I did use the men's on the morning because there was a line and it matched the shower in terms of its gas station bathroom cleanliness and aesthetic. The water from the spigot had a brown tinge to it, and clearly an animal had overturned a full trashcan in the night. A bunch of plastic trash cans with no lids is just asking for raccoons and possums to get in them. Why do people love this place? I mean, the trees and moss are truly lovely, but I paid the same amount at a MUCH nicer Oceanside campground in Maine. Maybe it's for you but it's not for me! Do NOT recommend.
