Stayed many times here. It is a state park staffed with friendly people. The lodge and grounds are beautiful. It is comfortable and spacious. A lot of areas to sit and relax. The fireplaces are inviting and cozy. There are so many opportunities and areas to enjoy that we never tire of visiting Salt Fork. And by the way, the restaurant offerings and staff are amazing.

Overall experience was great. Little issue about the amenities was not really a big deal. The price of the pizza is right. Last thanksgiving holiday when we order the pizza, it tastes great, but this time Christmas holiday was not so, different times and it was not a big deal we still ate it. This time we have to haul out belongings by foot from the third floor a wing down to second floor b wing because the elevator was not working. It gives us time to work together as family. It was an adventure in it self. Because we have to haul going up when we check out.

Update: I did receive an email from the manager. That doesn't fix all the issues that we had but it definitely makes a difference. All of our past stays have been great. The restaurant has always been a hit or miss experience. We will be back in the future. Hopefully it was just a bad night. We have stayed at Salt Fork numerous times over the past 30 years. This stay at the lodge was not a good experience. If you stay, don't count on the restaurant for food. Maybe best to skip the restaurant on New Year's all together. The activities director was great and she did the very best she could to keep the kids entertained. They did have a good time.

We have stayed here 4 years in a row for the Bigfoot 10 miler. The rooms have always been decent. This time it was not good. We had dirty towels balled up in the shower curtain. There was half a roll of toilet paper and an almost empty box of tissues that both needed replaced. Worst of all the toilet was loose and wobbled. It leaked dirty water all over the floor and needed to be fixed. It is very evident they don’t actually clean anything other than the surfaces and linens in the rooms. Some other notable issues; no coffee in the lobby, hot tub still down, 3 of the arcade games down and 2-3 less games than last year, poor communication between the online customer service and front desk customer service, in the past 3 years we never received a repeat visitor card to get a discount after 10 visits , and the this year we did? (Why didn’t we get one before?) Most people that have issues here are just given a convenient answer that doesn’t actually solve the problem but just gives an excuse. Like; there is no coffee in the lobby because the restaurant is open, Or our friend couldn’t check in on time and had to wait till around 5pm because of staff issues and they are behind. We will be back next year more than likely, but just hope they address some of the hospitality issues this place has.

There has been a group of guys that have been coming here for 13 years, I joined them about 5 years ago and this has become one of my favorite places to golf. The course is challenging and scenery is beautiful. The course always seems to be in great shape and there’s nothing better than to see a deer, turkeys or fox run past as you play. Coming in from Colorado I know what beautiful courses look like, only difference is Salt Fork is reasonably priced. We usually stay at the cabins but I have stayed at the lodge also. Both are very accommodating and nice. I prefer the cabins because you can relax by a campfire that overlooks the lake. When you’re done golfing and just want to relax, the huge pool is amazing to relax in. There’s a restaurant on site with some good food so you don’t have to drive to eat. If you haven’t been here I would highly recommend.
