The facilities themselves are great! hot spring tubs and warm pools, wet saunas and a dry sauna, grassy picnic space. It's a chill place, easy to relax here. We stayed in one of their tiny homes though and it had a nice set up and great potential, but wasn't properly cleaned. The carpet had not been vacuumed, the walls had dirty hand prints, the couch had crumbs. We decided to deal with it rather than make it an issue, but then our dog got fleas here. (He's white so it's easy to tell when he gets them). Would recommend for a day trip or if you have an rv.

Arrived at Sam's Family Spa in Desert Hot Springs for a 2 night RV stop! We chose this spot for its 4 mineral hot springs, 2 pools, sauna, and steam rooms, and it didn’t disappoint. The spa area is rustic but beautifully maintained and the gardens are gorgeous. It's a hidden gem! The spas are emptied every night and refilled in the morning (which we witnessed) perfectly relaxing and I feel amazing after just 2 days of enjoying the springs. Thanks very much. I imagine this was the place to be back in the 70s! Beautiful views over the mountains and spectacular sunsets.

Visited during a jousha tree trip in early December. It's not too far of a drive from Cottonwood Campground, which is nice. The staff was friendly and the price was good. They gave a discount for kids under 8. The bathrooms and multiple showers were clean and stocked. Staff was checking the temperature of the natural pools often during the day. It's definitely a family-friendly environment. They have picnic tables and grills for your use, which was nice for a packed lunch. The best part is they let you leave and return if you didn't bring lunch or need to run to the store for something such as swimwear. The facility it's self is not too big where you can lose a kid. They do have a store with a good amount of itums that would be needed. They also sell drinks and snacks along with ice cream. They have plenty of grass and seating area. Overall, this made a great addition to our trip. Our kid enjoyed it, and we got a bit of rest time in a nice hot tub. Would recommend for families.

Friendly staff that was very helpful. The pool was just drained ,deep cleaned, and refilled. Natural hot spring spas were amazing and clean. Staff says they are drained each night and refilled each morning fresh. Property is in the process of being updated and cleaned up. Not a 5 star resort so I don't expect it to be perfect, but it was clean and the staff is friendly. Will definitely be back as it looks like it's only getting better.

I am reviewing this as an RV park and the pool/spa experience. I have my RV here for January-March. The monthly rate is quite reasonable at $808 per month plus electricity costs. This includes a typical spot with full hook ups, use of the restroom (men’s is 1 urinal, 2 toilet stalls, and 2 shower stalls.) it also includes use of the spa. At the “spa” (which is in the center of the park, enter through the office) there is a pool that seems to be heated to about 77-80°. There are 4 hot water pools, only 1 is jetted (has bubbles) and they are varying temperatures, so something for everyone. There is a coed sauna in the building next to the hot mineral tubs, between the locker rooms. Each locker room also has a steam room. In addition to the steam room, there is a changing area with lockers, shelves and a couple benches. There is a sink area, bathrooms and a few showers. This is a pretty quiet place, not a ton of partying like a lot of RV spots, which is fine for me, as I’m typically there for work. The neighbors are friendly though, and a couple weeks into my stay, I’ve been happy. They allow the public to use the spa area for, I believe $25 per person and $30 on weekends. If you have an RV spot, it is included. In the office, they have beer and wine for purchase (as well as other soft drinks) but water is the only drink allowed in the hot tub area. There are also snacks available there. It looks as though there used to be a restaurant and bar upstairs, but seems to not have been open in a while. There is a game room next to the office, but I really don’t remember what was in there. Also in the spa area, there is a pond with fish (no, don’t bring you fishing pole) and ducks and some peacocks in a cage. There are a few picnic areas with those charcoal grills you see at parks, that are cemented into the ground. Bring your own charcoal if you plan to use these. There are 2 dog parks (that I have seen) and a couple kids parks as well. On the property there are a bunch of permanent mobile homes (likely about 2/3 of the resort) and about 1/3 are RV spots. They also have, maybe 5, tiny homes that can be rented out. They look nice and new, and are close proximity to the office/spa area. They have Dumpsters available for campers/residents, but I only saw one for recycling and it was packed super full. (Granted, I wasn’t looking for a recycle dumpster, I just happened to see it when I was walking around the property) They have a laundry building with lots of washers and dryers, but upon further inspection, a solid majority are out of order. The location is far enough away to feel secluded, but close enough to civilization, that you can get an Uber, can get to Downtown Palm Springs in 25 minutes. Pretty much get anywhere in the Coachella Valley in 1/2 hour or less.
