I attended a lovely silent retreat with Mindfulness Northwest at this location, and it blew me away. You can tell in the pictures it’s a beautiful place, but it’s even more stunning and tranquil in person. It definitely feels private, secure, serene, very well cared for and infused with great energy over the years. The accommodations were quite nice as there were so many cabins everyone had their own. I was in an upgraded rustic cabin and the mattress was quite comfortable and the space clean. The food was absolutely fabulous that the camp provided, every day I looked forward to our meals. The gym where our meditations were held, had such good energy, that could’ve been because of the quality facillatators and fellow meditators, but the space had good vibes too. The grounds are well kept, and there are lots of amazing places to explore and benches to sit on and take in the beautiful view of the Samish area. There is beach access, trails, and more on the 80 acres. This is a private camp so if you find a place that holds events here sign up quick. I can definitely recommend Mindfulness Northwest retreats!
Awesome Retreat Center with a small campground capable of accommodating a few tents through large motorhomes. We usually stay in our 35ft motorhome when attending retreats here. The scenery is AMAZING. The current managers are very nice and accommodating. We very much appreciate having the campground restricted to only retreat guests so outsiders are not on the grounds and we feel safe letting our kids attending with the group run and play. The playground is quite nice. Restrooms and bath houses are clean and functional. They permit dogs so long as you clean up after them and keep them on a leash. Some people attending retreats have had bad experiences with dogs in the past, so we were asked to ensure our dog remained away from the group as much as possible, which we totally understand. There is a nice communal fire pit up near the flagpole and dining hall with a few picnic tables that are movable in case you prefer to eat outside, and two campfire areas down near the saltwater lake. (currently infested with jellyfish so be careful) For an extra fee, they do have canoes that you can take out on the lake. The property is adjacent to active seafood growing beds. Although we cannot walk out to them during low tide, you can watch the workers in the clam and oyster beds. Overall, this is an ideal location to connect with nature while having meals provided and comfortable overnight accomodations.
Absolutely an incredible weekend and the camp. Camp staff was great. Food was awesome and the grounds were top notch. Highly recommend!!
The people who take care of the campground/retreat center and cook the food are sooooo kind and considerate!
Phenomenal church camp for the Community of Christ. Onsite caregivers. It is generally used as a family camp but is also rented, I believe. Beautiful chapel, nearly everything is handicap accessible. Nice large cabins ranging from rustic to modern, tent sites, and RV hookups. 2 large restrooms/showers separated by gender specific entrances on opposite sides of the buildings. In the modern cabins, a restroom & shower are shared with the cabin behind them. These modern accommodations are ideal for the disabled as they are wheelchair friendly. Great big dining hall that has a large industrial restaurant style kitchen with serving lines on each side of the hall. Restaurant quality dishwasher area. Small older stadium seating area great for campfire skit shows over looking the bay (see picture). These beautiful grounds are home to rabbits, deer, osprey, barn swallows, and more.
