Great spot to camp for a day or two, prices are moderately affordable depending on the spot you select, premium spots being around $75 per night. Dump station for $10 and potable water area is available, restrooms and also token showers which are $1 for 2 minutes. (Token machine is at the office, not one located at the actual showers). Highly recommend this location, it’s very conveniently located to tons of restaurants, shops and night life while also feeling very peaceful and relaxed around the ocean. 🌊
First time staying at San Elijo SB Campground ~ had a great time! Typical sites, small trees and bushes in between for some privacy , picnic table, fire ring …nice! Best part for us was the dog friendly beach! Pennie & Joe loved it! Look for Tower 16….at the south end of campground ~ dogs can get paws in sand from there, south! When the tide is out, it’s a nice wide beach for walking and playing! 🐾🏖️. We saw lots of dogs having fun and it seemed like the humans did a good job of keeping things “picked up”…which is great because it’s so fun to have these areas where dogs are allowed! Look forward to coming back!
I had a family reunion and camped here that night. I drove right in at 11pm and security was immediately on me and followed me to my site in their vehicle. I actually liked that part and the fellas were friendly and were just making sure I wasn't a hoodlum. These campsites are extremely close together and were in the zone to be heavily impacted by the train on and off throughout the night. It was loud, as well with people walking around and jogging really early before the sun was up. The facilities and grounds were clean and orderly. The convenience of this campground was alluring to me. After staying here, I'd pick somewhere else if I was wanting peace and quiet and space or if on vacation. Thank you for having me.
Very mature, established Campground with some cool trees surrounding each site. Ocean front million dollar view is spectacular but to counter the other side has its downfalls with busy street & train tracks. Great place if you're into hiking, surfing or biking. Very bike friendly neighborhood. Lastly for the 3 day stay we saw dolphins swimming nearby each day which was awesome. Bathrooms are clean & well maintained.
Very cool campground for those who want to be walking distance to city life. This is not a location for real wilderness. Be aware, they are strict on their check-in policy. Don't get there early. If you do, there is a decent amount of street parking right outside, even for a truck and trailer. Bring your bikes because there are lots of places to go using the bike path right outside the grounds. Food and coffee shops are also walking distance. The restrooms were average. It was pretty busy. BTW you are right next to the ocean. I did get cell phone service as well
