San Onofre Military Beach camping. Have been coming to this area for years. Always beautiful!!! Unfortunately, the ocean is claiming more and more. Some beach site are gone because of high tides. The Lifeguard tower is on shaky legs. I hope they can save it. Campsites need some love, but the main hall and check-in is looking good. I hope they can bring it all back to the grand showplace it really is.
Campground has great amenities, real bathrooms with showers, lots of RV hookups, big group campsites, on the beach. Unfortunately the beach access was closed due to sand erosion, do we had to walk a ways down the road to actually access the beach. Be we had a great time and I don't know why you wouldn't have a great time also!
We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the Camp Pendleton San Onofre Beach.... S.O.B.
I love this place it was a nice Beach clean and access to bathrooms we're clean and well capped the shower rooms we're mostly all open air no ceiling there is washer and dryer used to most of the machines take credit card or electronic payment by your phone I think it's iPhone an Android laundry service Campground was great there's water and electricity where we were at there is available spots for RVs but we were in a truck tent camping site right on the beach now the part of the beach that we were on was saying and at the water's edge big rocks but there's another part of the beach where is all sand eating right into the water but there's no camping there there is a train that runs on the back side and I think it's a mile or so there is the freeway now what military Campground so you need a military ID to get in but on either end of the campgrounds are civilian use State Park State Beach I went with friends that were military and that's how I got on
Camp here... you'll regret it. Right next the lavishing 5 freeway. You have homeless scoping out your camp site trying to see what they can come up on. And on top of that, the transit system is flying by at full speed. Nothing like sleeping by the beach by the freeway and feeling like a bum. All the lights keep you up at night. This is so much fun. 5/5 will avoid this place like the plague.
