Sand Box Motel

My mother, dog, and I were out on a day trip to Cape May from Philly for her birthday in January but ran out of daylight so decided to stay over. We found the Sandbox admittedly at the last minute because we needed a place close by with dog-friendly amenities, and with it being the off-season we didn’t have many options and didn’t know what to expect. We received SUCH a warm welcome, as if the owners had known us for years. We were given dog bowls and a homemade biscuit, which was much appreciated. The room was very clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for. Not the Ritz but who needs that anyway? Solid lodging in a great location with character (love the tile in the bathrooms!) and people who feel like family are far more valuable assets, to me at least. Will definitely return in the summer months for a longer stay as it is obvious this is a special little place.

I can not get over how wonderful this establishment is. The room was absolutely cozy and clean. The staff are amazing and hospitable. This room has everything you need especially for a long stay. Me and my Family decided to take a weekend trip from NYC to Wildwood for a few days. We spent majority of our days in AC and stay at the Sandbox to rest. Thank you to Lorraine and the staff at the Sandbox Box for all of your hard work and hospitality. As New Yorkers, we are so tired of the aggressive lifestyle of the city. Leaving NY to come here made me realize there are wonderful people out there in the world. Room 12 - King Size Bed Suite with a Full Size Bed/Fulton.

I accidentally booked the wrong date and the staff was still kind and amenable to accommodate me, on the same day. Stayed here for only one night but would’ve happily stayed longer if I had the chance! The room (king + kitchenette) was very clean and neat. Everything was serviceable and the front desk was so, so kind. Thank you!!! Also, the Wawa nearby has literally everything one could ask for

We enjoyed our one night stay at Sandbox. Room was clean and comfortable. They offered all the necessary amenities at an affordable rate. Location was good - walkable distance to convenience stores and restaurants. It's a cute little vintage hotel with friendly service and convenient location.

We recently stayed here and it was absolutely amazing! Though it’s a budget-friendly place, we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-kept everything was. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome, especially Theresa!!! and they were just as excited to meet our pup as we were to be there. Upon arrival, they give you bowls and treats for your dog along with a collapsible bowl for traveling. We went to the doggy beach and after that washed our puppy at the hotel. The dog wash station is absolutely amazing, has everything you need and no extra charge! Our king bed room was a decent size and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Despite being a budget option, the attention to cleanliness and comfort exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of space for our puppy to move around. The location was fantastic, with easy access to nearby walking supermarket, Wawa, beaches, boardwalk and parks, which made our stay even more enjoyable. 11 minutes drive to Cape May. The entire experience was seamless, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dog was just as comfortable as we were. If you’re looking for a clean, budget-friendly place where your dog is treated like part of the family, this is the spot! We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!🐾♥️
