this review says sand flat campground but that's not where it is. this is Eagle campground. definitely not in Arnold!
Nice sandy area for kids to get in the river, one big camp area family functioning
Hands down one of my favorite campgrounds in the Sierra Mountains! The campsites are huge and clean. The bathrooms are also always clean and well maintained. The camps host is awesome, he’s always seems to be around offering a hand making sure everyone is having a pleasant stay. There are no reservations and very little cell signal so make to plan for that. The campground itself isn’t very big and it fills up fast! I suggest showing up midweek to secure a site! There is a beautiful stream right below the campground and a few rivers close by that are great for fishing. Bring your bikes and your hiking gear because you’re sure to find an adventure there!
This spot is a gem if it’s not crowded. Campground hosts Tammy and John are wonderful and do a beautiful job looking over the place. There are trailer sites on one side and tent sites on the other side. The drive up tent sites aren’t really that special and don’t offer much privacy, but the walk-up sites are amazing, with some of them being right next to the creek with beautiful views. Fires were still allowed was of late August. Thank you Tammy and John for being such wonderful hosts!
