May The Fourth Be With You. We camped here May 3rd, 4th and 5th 2024. It rained like crazy, per usual at the Oregon Coast, but we made the most of it and still had a great time! Well kept campground with everything you need.
Middle of the week in the early season was super relaxing as it wasn't a full camp. This is a great place to do star photography. We happened to be here the day the northern lights were announced (that we saw anyway), and I think that's what the blues and purples may be in my photos. Also, as I dont sleep well, I can tell you the 3-4 am skies are gorgeous and SO peaceful! Don't forget to look up!! We will be back here again.
If you live for the dune-buggy life and like smelling gasoline first thing in the morning and last thing in the night and nothing else matters - 5* If you're a group who don't know better and want a cool calm and clean campsite to hang out by the beach - 1* The toilets are hardly cleaned - filthy most of the time , no showers, fire pit was full of glass shards and melted cans. Picnic tables filthy, dog poop in camp spots. The rules say it's totally fine for noisy buggies to wake u up till 12am. In practice, there are people riding well past that and revving for no reason in the campground. The good - Great night skies, I presume great sunsets if you manage to walk over without being run over by buggies doing donuts - there is no real separate path for people on foot.
We stayed in site 71 in March. About 1/2 of the sites were flooded so keep that in mind for the winter months. The bathrooms were really clean, and there were multiple. The fire rings were perfect for s'mores or even a cooking whole meal. We did not know this was a common campground for ATVs. We were looking for a quiet coastal camp, but the ATVs ended up not being an issue. Everyone was respectful of quiet hours and was safe driving around the camp. If you're into ATVs definitely a great spot. There was also personnel there 24/7. When a camper left a huge fire unattended, they stopped by not even a few minutes later to contain it. Also the direct access to the beach was awesome. Sites were only $25 a night and discounts for pass holders were offered (50% off) Highly recommend.
Loved camping here!!! We had a blast! The day use area has a Big Sandy Beach that is walking distance from the camp grounds. They have water spigots throughout which made it super helpful to wash the sand off. The campsites were nice and big with nice fire pits. it is right next to the sand dunes so if you have quads or ATVs this is a perfect place to go. Definitely planning to go back and Would definitely recommend to others
I loved it. Perfect area for ATVs and sand rails. My daughter is still learning so she just road around the roads of the campground. Very family friendly.
Very loud. Went on a Thursday and people were partying/playing loud music with bass late into the night. They also lit off fireworks at midnight. Why are quiet hours not enforced?
