Very well maintained facilities with exceptionally friendly staff. Other campers were also friendly and welcoming. Solid cell service w/5G (Verizon). Public boat launch for fishing and fun. Beach area with dog park. Biking/hiking trail that wanders 29+ miles around Hardy Dam and the Muskegon River. Modern playground equipment, with tetherball, volleyball, and basketball courts located around the park. Small cabins are available. At least two bath houses that are well maintained and cleaned often. Laundry limited to a single washer/dryer, which appeared in good repair, but I did not use them. Dump station available if needed. My site was a spacious pull-thru with full hookups (including 50amp service), a nice picnic table, and a permanent fire ring. Some sites have movable fire rings. Longer term and seasonal spots are available. Overall, this campground is very impressive and could serve as an example to others. Really like this place and will return. I recommend considering this park on your next visit to this area.
Sandy Beach County Park is such a fun, relaxing campground. They have beautiful views being right next to the water, and we loved bringing our kayaks out to do some exploring for a bit. There’s a fun playground for kiddos, various types of campsites to suit whatever style of camping your family likes, and an overall friendly vibe here. The sites are clean, there’s places to store your boat should you need to, and even cabins for folks who don’t have a tent or RV. We enjoyed our first trip here last month and look forward to visiting again this Summer! Update: We visited several more times, even once for a fall camping trip, and enjoyed it every time! We explored more of the campground on our bikes, as well of more of the water on boat. We definitely recommend Sandy Beach County Park to any fellow campers!
Amazing campground! Well maintained, beautiful views, friendly staff, nice sized lots, paved roads and boat launch. Beach for people and a separate beach just for the dogs! Wonderful bike and hiking trails. Definitely check this place out!
We use the boat launch almost every weekend during the summer. Plenty of parking for truck n trailers with additional overflow.
The camp ground is nice, the prices are reasonable they also have cabin 5 handicap and 3 regular ones. $200 bucks for 4 ppl 3 nights for the cabin. I love the cabins but their beds are hard. You have 2 rooms with bunk beds and a frouton in the living room. But one down fall is you cant have pets in the cabins only when you on a tent sight and they have to be on leashes.
