Sandy Springs Campground

Stayed here this past weekend. Enjoyed meeting the owners and the regulars that keep a camper there long term. Super kind folks and lots of good conversation with new friends... oh yeah, the riverfront campsites were nice too. :) Awesome place, very quiet and peaceful.

We couldn't be more impressed with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a well-organized check-in process. The campsite itself was immaculate, spacious, and perfectly suited for families with children. The amenities at Sandy Springs are great! The kids absolutely loved the playground and the organized activities, which kept them entertained. We were particularly pleased with the cleanliness of the restrooms and shower facilities, which were consistently well-maintained. The staff was always friendly and ready to assist with any needs or questions we had, making our stay worry-free. What really stood out to us was the sense of community and safety at the campground. Other families were friendly, and it was clear that Sandy Springs places a high priority on creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Our children made new friends and created wonderful memories. Overall, I highly recommend this campground to any family looking for a fun, relaxing, and safe outdoor getaway.

The Wagners were so welcoming! Beautiful location on the Ohio River with Adirondack chairs by each fire pit along the river sites. Bathrooms and laundry rooms were very clean. Great campground, friendly people, wish we could have stayed longer.

My family and I have camped at many locations and find this one an absolute gem! The owner are very friendly, help anyway they possibly can, keep the grounds clean and well maintained. The shower house is always clean and well stocked. The playground is great if you have small kiddos. Very safe for kids to ride their bikes and just be kids. The regular guest are friendly. Great place to relax, unwind and just watch the barges go by. Our favorite place to camp.

This campground is wonderful. It is right on the Ohio River. It is so relaxing sitting at our site or down by the water and just watching the water or the boats going by. Owners were very friendly and helpful and all neighbors very nice. We were even offered a pontoon ride which we took. Our site was plenty big and level with full hookup. It was a wonderful stay and will definitely go back.

We found sandy springs online and I really wanted to go catfishing. We rented the river cabin. My husband is not a fisherman and we both had a great time. The view of the boats is amazing. The campground is well taken care of and the owners are super friendly and nice. The river cabin was perfect for the two of us and I love the wrap around porch where I got to enjoy the rain but still sit outside and watch the boats. This is now our second year going and it will definitely be an every year thing now. We love sandy springs I wish we could go more often!

Last weekend was our first stay. Won’t be our last! Spectacular water-front sites. A handful of permanent campsites-but not so many that you feel you are invading a clique. Very well maintained: from roads (wide) to sites to community use spaces like playgrounds and shower houses. The area doesn’t have a whole lot to offer-pretty remote. But isn’t that why we camp? Love it and will return.

If you want a place with amazing river views, this is it! The campground is small, so it was relatively quiet and relaxing. You are about half an hour from any towns so plan accordingly. I enjoyed watching for barges on the river.

If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars I would. The views are exactly as described and with the service provided, you can’t find a better place! Most campgrounds are very hands off and not helpful, but the owners checked on us, even opened the camp shop after they had already closed up for the day, and every other camper was extremely kind and nice. We have dogs and always bring our own poop bags, but they had dog stations that provided a place to throw away and with bags! Literally a seamless stay and would recommend this place to anyone who asks!

The campgrounds is in the area of my Great Grandparents then Grandparents farm land. It was a delightful experience, our Hosts sent an email to who would have been their neighbors. They sent a email of possibly family tree addition to my family. It’s a beautiful place to sit back and relax.
