Evergreen is truly a hidden gem, and Joe and his staff are nothing short of exceptional! I camped here years ago as a kid and early teen and, honestly, didn’t enjoy it back then—there wasn’t much to do, and the seasonal campers weren’t particularly welcoming. But wow, how things have changed! The improvements to the park are incredible, and the atmosphere now is warm, inclusive, and fun—largely thanks to Joe and his amazing team. They’ve created a community that truly feels like family. Last year, I organized a group tubing trip at another campground in Sterling, MI, and I can confidently say I won’t be going back there. Evergreen, by comparison, has a handicap-accessible kayak launch—an amazing feature that shows how thoughtful and accommodating they’ve become. We stayed in a cabin with a private bedroom, and it was absolutely perfect—clean, cozy, and comfortable. Joe went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, and every staff member we met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely cared about our experience. This is more than just a campground—it’s a place where great memories are made. Highly recommended!
This was our first time staying here, we have been camping for 30 years and we have to say, this is one of the best campgrounds we’ve been to. The pines section where we camped was incredible. You actually feel like you’re in the woods camping and have some privacy. It wasn’t jammed packed like other campgrounds with no trees. The full hooks up were modern and really nice and well taken care of. The site was incredibly clean upon our arrival. The trails are amazingly well groomed and we hiked them multiple times. The playground looks newer and there are new pavilions there too. On the river there are 2 more pavilions , a playground, horseshoe pits and a kayak launch. The staff was super friendly, they even had a bbq food truck show up Saturday and the food was great! There is also rustic camping right on the river which we thought was awesome for tent campers. I did fish the river and caught 6 rock bass and 2 pike so there is some good fishing to be had for sure! We loved it so much that we will be back for sure!
Stayed there July 11-14, 2025. The site I was on was over 70' long with full hookups. They have newer playground equipment including an area for handicapped children. Cass River runs right along the property for fishing and kayaking. There is also a pond that smaller children will enjoy. The volleyball area and horseshoe pits are in top shape. Cass City is about a 10-15 minutes drive for restaurants and ice cream. Definitely will be going back soon.
We came to the area for a family reunion, and our locally-stationed family members recommended the park as a potential place to camp. We reserved one of the rustic sites for 2 nights. They also have a lot of camper/RV Sites. What a blast! Our site was beautiful: located RIGHT on the river. There were no trees on the site itself, so you’ll want a canopy for shade if camping in the heat of summer. We were camping in September, and the weather was perfect. Easy to get our parking pass and to get set up. The premises are well maintained, the staff is friendly, and they clearly plan events that are family/community friendly (while we were there they hosted a haunted house, a chili cook-off, a pumpkin bowling contest, a site-decorating contest…. It was eventful! I have a medical challenge that requires easy access to a working restroom, and I found the trek to and from our campsite to be reasonable and well-lit at night. There were 2 roomy shower stalls (1 handicap accessible) and plenty of sinks/bathroom stalls (1 handicap accessible) in the ladies’ section of the bathroom. They have wood available for site fire pits at $5/bundle (as of 2023). I definitely recommend this park/campsite!
Great place to camp! Almost all sites are full hook up. Some sites are very large. Many pull thru, wooded sites and some in full sun! Restrooms are always clean and they are always updating and very pleasant to everyone. Halloween decorations were really really good. The local gas stations serve really BIG ice cream! Dollar General is only a couple miles away. But Cass City, and Marlette has larger stores, Bens supermarket is a good place to shop. We always enjoy our stays here. Only draw back is lack of cell or internet service. Basically nothing unless you're in front of the office.
