This KOA is outstanding! We were a large group. We came for a theme weekend and everything was well planned, communicated and organized. The staff and management was beyond welcoming and accommodating. The new General Manager is doing great things with this facility. Some highlights were the fully stocked camp store, two bounce pillows, meals available for purchase, live music, fun events for the whole family and extremely clean facilities. The beach is right across the street. We couldn't ask for anything more. We can't wait to return soon!
We visited over the Christmas break and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was super friendly and helpful- even though they were away from their family. Site was clean all around- RV site, heated pool/sauna and bathrooms. We really enjoyed ourselves since this location is close to Monterey and Santa Cruz but far away if you just want to hang out ! We will be back!
Great area. Great location. Loved the outdoor family activities! But need new bocce balls, they were in rough shape. Also, wish everything wasn’t an added fee. Hot chocolate and many other things use to be free (use to love the free charcuterie n wine for adults by the pool!)! That made it amazing and great value for a big family. I noticed the main room was often empty since no one wanted to pay for every little thing… Oh side note, Emily, is simply fabulous! Friendly and kind plus she’s great with kids!!! Fun weekend, thank you.
We have come here numerous times in the past, and have never had a disappointing experience. This is the first time we’ve ever stayed in a cabin, just one night before the kids go back to school from winter break. We got in a lot later than expected due to traffic, it was already dark so we sat around the campfire before bed. It wasn’t until around midnight we realized we had no power. No TV, no heater, no bathroom light, nothing. We have 3 young kids and we were all freezing the entire night! First thing in the morning we reached out to let them know, they offered to come look at it but as we were leaving it wasn’t a priority. They pretty much told us we should’ve called the emergency line and the best they could due was refund $40. $40 off a $210 night stay where we were miserable is kind of a slap in the face. Especially because the line says for emergencies only, which in our opinion is something life threatening or a fire. We didn’t want to call and have EMS show up for a popped breaker.
Our first time at KOA Santa Cruz was fantastic! The serene environment, with tall trees and well-maintained grounds, made it a perfect getaway. The kids were thrilled with all the activities, from the playful scavenger hunts to the engaging arts and crafts sessions. The highlight was definitely the trick-or-treating and the Halloween contest, which my dog and daughter won, bringing so much joy to our trip. Everyone at the office was incredibly nice and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great vacation. We had so much fun and can't wait to return!
