One of our favorite camping grounds. Plenty of room for large rvs or large parties. No hook ups but they have out houses.
My favorite campground in the area. The right turn into the campground is a little tight for some larger RVs, but we've seen almost every type here. The gravel road is well maintained and the proximity to the CDT is a bonus. The restrooms were clean and the dumpster was convenient.
Good camp not just for groups. Plenty of space for groups, no designated sites. Toilets but no water, fire pits but no tables. Trailhead for Continental Divide trail next to camp. This is a sparse Pine forest with plenty of shade, not so good for solar power.
Perfect campground if you're visiting with young children. This campground is the first of three when entering the Gila National Forest (approximately 9 miles away). We originally wanted to stay at Mesa because it overlooks Lake Robert's but there was a nightly 🌙 fee (cash or check only) which we didn't have and too high for young children to play. This campground had plenty of walking trails for those with young children. Best part it was FREE.
No water in the area, but not too far from Bear Dam Lake in Mimbres or Roberts Lake. Nice place for camping out, hiking, or a picnic.
